Five Dead, Seven Injured in Two Separate Road Accidents in J&K

In a tragic turn of events, five individuals, including a father-son duo and a mother-daughter duo, lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri and Reasi districts on Sunday, according to officials.

The first accident occurred in the morning near Chalan village in Rajouri when a taxi carrying eight people fell off a hilly road while traveling from Thandikassi to Lam. The driver, Arun Kumar (32), a resident of Lam, was pronounced dead at the scene. Mohammad Din (65) and his son Mohammad Aslam (40) succumbed to their injuries at the Nowshera Sub-District Hospital and Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Rajouri, respectively.

Aslam’s wife, Shahida (40), and their children, Atif (10), Raza (5), and Asiya (7), along with his sister Zareena (36), are currently receiving treatment at GMCH, where their conditions are reported as serious.

In a separate incident, a Mahindra Bolero car carrying four members of a family rolled 200 feet down into a gorge at Bidda village in Reasi district around 3:30 pm. Guddi Devi and her daughter Shobha were killed instantly. Devi’s son Mukesh Singh and his minor daughter were critically injured and have been hospitalized. The incidents have cast a pall of gloom over the respective villages, and authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution on the treacherous hilly roads of the region.

Five Soldiers, Including JCO, Killed in Tank Accident Near LAC in Leh

9 killed, 23 injured after collision between goods vehicle and truck in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara

9 individuals, comprising five women and three children, lost their lives, while 23 others sustained injuries following a collision between a goods vehicle and a truck in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara district. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night as the victims were returning from a family function in the goods vehicle.

According to the police, the collision transpired when the vehicle struck a parked mini truck along the roadside.

The deceased have been identified as Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6), as per report.

Dense fog blinds drivers: Vehicles collide on Agra-Lucknow expressway

A thick layer of fog on the Agra-Lucknow expressway led to low visibility resulting in the collision of several vehicles. So far, at least seven to eight vehicles have collided near Jharna Nala flyover. It has created a situation of panic among the commuters.

Ravi Kumar, an eye-witness of an incident commented, “The vehicle ahead of me suddenly applied the brake, due to which I hit the brake and then some three to four vehicles behind me also collided with each other.”

Similarly, in Bagpath district of Uttar Pradesh, several people were injured as a result of an accident of two vehicles. In Raibareli, a high-speed truck rammed into a house at Bareli-Sultanpur Highway due to dense fog. As per an eye-witness, there was no loss of life but major property damage. Kanpur and Unnao also reported dense fog.

India Meteorological Department suggests that the fog will continue for the net few days over the northwest and parts of adjoining central India. “Dense to very dense fog is likely to continue over Northwest & parts of adjoining Central India during next 3-4 days,” the IMD said in a post on X.

People in Agra also faced difficulty to visit the famous monument Taj Mahal as a result of dense fog, affecting visibility in the city. The fog also gripped the other parts of North India including the national capital, creating traffic disruptions for the morning commuters.

Four wagons of goods train derail in Maharashtra

According to official reports, a goods train, consisting of four wagons and a brake van, derailed while passing through the Panvel-Kalamboli section in Maharashtra on Saturday. It has been disclosed that this train was en route from Panvel to Vasai in Maharashtra.

Following the derailment, train operations in this section were disrupted. In response to the incident, accident relief trains (ART) from Kalyan and Kurla were dispatched to the location. Authorities are actively working to restore freight services on this route as soon as possible.

Several freight trains experienced delays due to the derailment in the Panvel-Kalamboli section. These included the Gorakhpur-Panvel Express at Kalamboli, LTT-Mangluru Express at Thane, Mumbai Central-Sawantwadi Express at Taloja Panchanand, Kochuveli-Indore Express at Somathane, and Ernakulam-Nizamuddin Express at Somathane.

Bengaluru: Man killed as scooter collides with car

Police reported that a fatal accident occurred near the Kariyana Palya area in Bengaluru when a speeding car collided with a scooter rider, resulting in the rider’s death. The deceased individual has been identified as Ajay Kumar, according to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for West Bengaluru.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 AM when a car traveling at high speed from the Palya side of Chikkegowda towards Uttara Halli road collided with a scooter rider on Technology road, as explained by the police. The DCP attributed the accident to the car driver’s reckless and negligent behavior, stating that the driver collided with the scooter traveling in the opposite direction.

Tragically, the scooter rider sustained severe injuries and lost their life at the scene of the accident, while the driver of the car fled from the scene. In response, the police station has initiated legal proceedings by registering a case under Section 279-304(A) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act (IMV).

The DCP emphasized that an investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to locate the accused individual and the vehicle involved in the incident.

Mastung: Three members of family killed in accident

On Friday, three members of a family were murdered in an accident between a pick-up vehicle and a passenger bus on Pakistan’s Quetta-Karachi highway in Mastung, according to Pakistan-based Dawn.

According to authorities, a passenger bus bound for Quetta collided with a pick-up vehicle in the Pashkaram district of Pakistan’s Balochistan’s Mastung region, according to Dawn.

Police said, “All the three people travelling in the pick-up van received fatal injuries and died on the spot.”

Ahmed Shahwani, Nisar Ahmed Shahwani, and Salal Ahmed Shahwani were recognized as the victims. The three victims were all from the Mastung area.

According to the Dawn report, the coach toppled after the incident and all of the passengers and driver survived. Police later arrived at the scene and transported the dead to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital.

Tamil Nadu: 7 women killed, 10 injured after van-lorry collision

In the early hours of Monday, a stationed tourist vehicle was hit from back by a large lorry and fell on them as they sat on a low-rise concrete barrier on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 44).

The accident, which occurred at around 2:40 a.m. in Tamil Nadu’s Sandaipalli village near Tirupattur district’s Natrampalli town, injured ten other persons, including the drivers of the van and the lorry. Five of the injured were women, according to authorities.

According to a report by The Hindu, the deceased include M. Meena (50), D Devayani (32), P Saittu (55), S Devika (50), V Savitri (42), K Kalavathi (50), and R Geetha (34). They were all from Vellore’s Pernambut.

The deceased, along with eight relatives from Pernambut, were on a journey from Saturday to see pilgrims and tourist spots in Karnataka’s Mysore, for which they had booked two tourist vehicles.

One of the front wheels of one of the vans punctured on the highway as the women were returning, causing them to get off the bus and sit on a one-foot-high concrete median near the vehicle. The van’s warning lights and other lights were working.

At the same moment, the lorry’s driver, 34-year-old P Arunachalam, was in route from Bengaluru to Chennai with smartboards for classrooms.

Mumbai: 2 killed, 3 injured in car accident

According to Mumbai police, two persons were killed and three were badly injured in a car accident on Sunday.

“The incident took place near Sion Hospital where the car met with an accident and caught fire resulting in the on-the-spot death of two people while three others were seriously injured,” the police said.

Assam: 8 injured after car collides with minivan in Goalpara

An official stated on Monday that at least eight persons were hurt when a car crashed with a minivan in the Goalpara district’s Dhupdhara sector.

Locals raced to the scene on Sunday night, rescuing the injured and transporting them to local hospitals, he added. Five of the injured were admitted to Dhupdhara Model Hospital, while three of the most seriously injured were transported to Goalpara Civil Hospital.

Drunk woman rams car into parked two-wheelers in Visakhapatnam

Aligarh: Several injured as bus overturns

A bus overturned while trying to save a motorcyclist on Panethi Road near Harduaganj station in Aligarh, injuring several people.

The bus was carrying approximately 20-25 passengers who sustained minor injuries. The person on the bike sustained serious injuries, and bus passengers were sent to the hospital.

Sitapur: Two killed, 2 injured after car falls into 70-ft deep pit

According to officials, two people were murdered and two others were injured when their automobile collided with a divider and plunged into a 70-foot deep ditch along the banks of the Gon River in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur.

A speeding car travelling from Lucknow to Sitapur crashed with a divider and slid into the pit, according to officials. The collision gravely injured four persons, who were taken to a local hospital. Two of them died while undergoing treatment. The other two are claimed to be in critical condition, and the cause of the accident is said to be overspeeding.

Narendra Pratap Singh, ASP, Southern, stated that the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Kamlapur police station. A crane was used to lift the vehicle out of the pit.

According to intelligence, four passengers were headed towards Sitapur when their automobile lost control at the curve of the Gon river in front of Kuliganj Baba in the Kamlapur district and plunged into a 70-foot-deep pit after colliding with a barrier.

Locals noticed the accident and summoned an ambulance as well as the police. According to the police, local officers arrived on the scene and began the rescue operation.

According to authorities, all four were taken to a hospital, where two died during treatment. The other two were stated to be in critical condition and had been referred to Lucknow’s trauma centre. “We are looking into the accident further,” they stated.

Himachal: 4 killed as car falls into gorge in Sirmaur

Family of four including 2 children killed in Chhattisgarh

Four members of a family, including a woman and two children, were killed in the Korba district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred as a result of a collision between a truck and a car near the Madanpur Forest Barrier under the jurisdiction of the Morga police station

As per the statement given by the in charge of the Morga police station Ashwani Nirankari, one person identified as Manoj Kumar Tirkey, a resident of Ambikapur, was traveling with his family to Jagdalpur from Ambikapur at the time of the mishap.

The police said, “The deceased family members include a man his wife and two children. All four members died on the spot. The truck driver managed to flee.”

After receiving information, police officers arrived at the scene and removed the bodies from the car. According to police, the accident occurred due to both vehicles exceeding the speed limit.

An investigation into the matter is currently underway.

UP: 15 injured after bus overturns in Aligarh

A total of 15 passengers were injured on Monday when an Uttar Pradesh roadways bus traveling from Delhi to Aligarh lost control and overturned into a drain.

The bus was from Kasganj depot, and the incident occurred within the boundaries of the Gabhana police station in the Aligarh district. After receiving information, the local police rushed to the scene and transported the injured to the hospital.

In an statement, the SP City Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said that “Around 7 am today, the Gabhana police received information that a bus from Kasganj depot, which was coming from Delhi towards Aligarh, overturned uncontrollably on the highway. On information, the police immediately reached the spot and took injured passengers to Malkhan Singh Hospital via ambulance.”

The injured were given first aid and then released, according to police. “15 persons reported injuries who were discharged after giving first aid while, a girl has been admitted to the hospital for treatment, where her condition is said to be stable, “said SP. The case is still under investigation.
