The casualties included home guards, sanitation workers, and other polling staff. Additionally, a PAC constable, who was posted at Ramabai Ambedkar ground to guard EVMs, also passed away in Lucknow. </excerpt>

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has exuded confidence that the Modi government will be re-elected with an overwhelming majority in the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

He remarked that the people are strongly supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a Viksit (developed) and Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) Bharat.
Addressing reporters after casting his vote in the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday morning, the Chief Minister said, “The final phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, is taking place today across 57 seats in 8 states. This includes 13 seats in Eastern Uttar Pradesh: Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Bansgaon, Salempur, Ballia, Ghosi, Robertsganj, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Mirzapur, where voting is also being conducted today.”

He mentioned that over the past two and a half months, various political parties have presented their issues to the people to fulfil the aspirations of the general public. They have presented the work and achievements of their governments.
“To elect the new government in the country, people have done a comparative analysis of the performances of the previous governments and the Modi govt in the last 10 years. Considering the support received across the nation, it can be said that when the results come on June 4, those individuals, parties, and governments that have worked towards a self-reliant and developed India, preserving heritage while fostering development, showing compassion for the poor, and ensuring a bright future for the youth, will receive full support”, CM Yogi added.

Yogi claimed that everyone has seen India change over the previous ten years, and that in the last seven years, they have seen a new Uttar Pradesh run by a double-engine administration. Work was done for the youth, farmers, businesspeople, women, and every other segment of society under PM Modi’s direction in an atmosphere of security, respect, and progress.

CM Yogi thanked the voters from the bottom of his heart for their enthusiasm, even if it was currently 50 degrees outside. He said that in spite of this, people’s desire to vote in order to uphold democracy has not decreased.
To fulfill the dream of a Viksit (developed) and Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) Bharat, the Chief Minister asked citizens to vote despite their religious and caste affiliations.

He said, “To make the country the world’s third-largest economy in the next three years and to bring prosperity to the lives of all citizens, the people’s blessings are with PM Modi and the BJP.”

The CM urged people to rise above caste and religion and vote to realize the vision of a Viksit (developed) and Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) Bharat. He said, “To make the country the world’s third-largest economy in the next three years and to bring prosperity to the lives of all citizens, the people’s blessings are with PM Modi and the BJP.”

Yogi went on to say that the government has made extraordinary progress in ensuring women’s safety, dignity, and independence under PM Modi’s direction. Women’s empowerment has taken a new turn thanks to programs like the Matru Vandana Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, and Shakti Vandana Act.

Young voters should actively engage in the campaign to promote the new India, which has first-rate infrastructure and is gaining respect from all around the world, CM Yogi advised them.

He also cautioned young voters against parties and individuals trying to mislead them. “Our future is bright with the goal of a self-reliant and developed India, and the youth should cast their votes with this goal in mind”, he remarked.
Yogi said, “PM Modi has recognized only four castes: youth, poor, women, and farmers and has their complete support.”

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave a sharp response to the statements made by opposition leaders regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s spiritual-nationalist pursuits. In response to the questions asked, he said “PM Modi’s spiritual devotion is a complete national devotion, as he serves Mother India tirelessly, without fatigue, without pause. However, those who indulge in corruption, immorality, and misconduct cannot understand the importance of spiritual devotion. To understand spiritual devotion, one needs a mindset like that of India and Indians. There should be a sentiment of dedication to India’s eternal values and ideals”, he added.

In response to a question about the review meeting of the parties in the INDIA bloc, CM Yogi Adityanath remarked that it is good that the leaders of the parties of the opposition will sit together before June 4 because, as many parties as there are in this alliance, there will be as many disputes after June 4. They will all then blame each other, and insult each other.
Responding to questions raised by SP workers during the controversy over the arrangement of EVM protection before the vote count, he said, “Those who did not find candidates for 80 seats in the state are bound to blame someone or the other. These people have become tired of blaming EVMs. Now, by accusing the Election Commission, they are undermining the atmosphere of democracy.”
He said that the Election Commission is conducting the election process with complete impartiality, transparency, and honesty. Wherever there were some complaints, the Commission took prompt action. However, the SP has no faith in democracy. They have always insulted the Constitution made by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

“Democracy sounds ridiculous coming from the mouths of those who give space to mafias and terrorists. For SP, it can only be said, ‘As you sow, so shall you reap'”, Yogi stated.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, adhering to the mantra of “Pehle Matdaan, Fir Jalpaan” exercised his voting right at booth number 249 of Gorakhnath Primary School (Girls) on Saturday, the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

He arrived at the booth early in the morning at seven o’clock and became one of the first voters at his booth. After casting his vote, he interacted with the media and then proceeded to Gorakhnath Temple.

Voting started in the last 57 parliamentary constituencies at 7 am today across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

</excerpt>

BJP President JP Nadda on Saturday accused the Congress party of working on the principle of divide and rule for the last 75 years to increase their ‘vote bank’.

Speaking to ANI, Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory claiming that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will cross the mark of 400 seats.

“People are going to bless PM Modi and NDA will cross the mark of 400 seats. The entire country is discussing ‘400 paar’ but the people who have done negative politics are saying that we want 400 seats to change the Constitution,” he said.

“The people who are talking about changing the Constitution are the ones who have done politics on negativism. These people always try to mislead and divide society. They have worked on the principle of divide and rule for the last 75 years. They do the politics in such a way that people remain divided and they can increase their vote bank. PM Modi has done the work of taking India towards Viksit Bharat with his positive politics,” the BJP leader added.

Nadda said that the country is running a strong government under the leadership of PM Modi.

“The only thing that people kept in their minds is that Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee of fulfilment of the guarantee. The country is in strong hands, the country is running a strong government under the leadership of PM Modi and is making India self-reliant,” he said.

Coming down heavily on the Congress for creating confusion on some issues, Nadda said that the Congress wants to give special preference to minorities to divert the attention of the people from secularism.

“Congress tried to create confusion on some issues. In their manifesto, they said that they would give special preference to minorities, which means Muslims for them, it means appeasement, and it means to divert attention from secularism. PM Modi is a real secular person because he never said that the schemes and guarantees will be given to some particular caste or religion,” the BJP leader said.

The BJP President said that the BJP had put the nation first by revoking Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and fulfilling the promise of constructing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

“Ram Mandir is a matter of faith for us, Ram Mandir is not a matter of votes for us, it is not a matter of politics. Article 370 is a matter of the country and it is not from the point of view of votes. But the whole country has stood with us and everyone understood that BJP has also saved the pride of India by building the Ram Mandir and by removing Article 370, the country has become stronger,” Nadda said.
Earlier in the day, Nadda cast his vote at a polling booth in Bilaspur. His wife Mallika Nadda also accompanied him.

“I was the first voter here (in his booth). I appeal to all voters to vote in large numbers for a capable and self-reliant India. I urge voters to vote and contribute towards making India a capable, self-reliant and developed India…I consider this a festival of democracy,” the BJP President said after casting his vote.

The seventh phase marks a grand finish to the world’s largest polling marathon that began on the 19th of last month and has already covered six phases and 486 Lok Sabha seats.

For the final 57 parliamentary seats spread over seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, voting got underway at seven in the morning.
Over 10.06 crore electors, comprising roughly 5.24 crore male, 4.82 crore female, and 3574 third gender electors, are anticipated to exercise their right to vote, according to the Election Commission of India.

As the Bharatiya Janata Party prepares to enter its third term of government, Prime Minister Modi has traveled the entire nation in support of his party’s candidacy.
Election day was April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25 for the first six phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Andhra Pradesh have also had assembly elections. Polls for Lok are being held concurrently in Odisha.

Kejriwal has been on bail in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi government’s now-scrapped excise policy.

The CM was given 21 days of temporary bail by the Supreme Court on May 10 so that he could run for office during the Lok Sabha elections. On June 2, one day following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha election, the court had ordered him to turn himself in.

After receiving the bail, Kejriwal conducted a nationwide campaign in which he attacked the Union government, which is led by the BJP, accusing it of being autocratic and seeking to destroy the opposition by abusing central investigative agencies.

Voting in 57 parliamentary constituencies spread over eight states and the Union Territories, including Bihar, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, is taking place in the election’s final phase.
Of the 57 seats in the Lok Sabha, 41 are in the general category, with three allocated for Scheduled Castes.

PM Narendra Modi is among 906 candidates in the fray in the elections, during which 10.06 crore electors are eligible to cast their vote.

Of the seats at stake, the BJP had bagged 25 in 2019, while the Congress won eight, and the Trinamool Congress won nine. The Biju Janata Dal won four seats and the Janata Dal (United) won three; the Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Apna Dal, and Akali Dal won two seats; and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Aam Aadmi Party each snagged a single seat.
Over the last six phases, voting has been completed in 486 Lok Sabha seats across 28 States and Union Territories.
Today, the voting is taking place in the remaining 42 Assembly constituencies of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly.
The counting of the votes polled is scheduled to take place on June 4 when the results will be known.

Meanwhile, Ghazipur is one of UP’s 80 Lok sabha seats, which is always on the news during Lok sabha elections.

The gangster-turned- politician Mukhtar Ansar, who has died recently, exercised huge influence in both Mau and Ghazipur districts. He has previously won these seats by a huge margin in many assembly elections.

Ghazipur’s Political Landscape

The Lok Sabha seat of Ghazipur consists of six assembly segments- Jakhania (reserved), Saidpur (reserved), Ghazipur Sadar, Jangipur, and Jamnia.

It is considered a largest Lok sabha seat, as it boasts of 2,074,883 voters this 2024 election.

Mukhtar Ansari’s elder brother Afzal Ansari had previously won 2019 general elections from Ghazipur in BSP’s (Bahujan Samaj Party) ticket. Defeating BJP’s Manoj Sinha, who had served as minister of state’s railway minister in Narendra Modi-led government.

This time, in the 7th phase of election, he is fighting from this constituency again, but as a Samajwadi Party’s candidate against BJP’s candidate Paras Nath Rai and BSP’s candidate Dr Umesh Kumar Singh.

In addition, Ansari’s daughter Nusrat Ansari, is also contesting the election, as her father’s backup candidate. Who interestingly, is currently facing legal charges under Gangster Act.

Banerjee exercised his franchise at Mitra Institution on Harish Mukherjee Road in Bengal. He criticized the stifling of democracy in Banaras, highlighting instances of candidate nominations being canceled and restricted access to returning officer offices. Banerjee reiterated his pre-election stance, asserting Trinamool’s anticipated gains in seat and vote shares.

He claimed that out of the 35 seats already concluded in Bengal, Trinamool has likely secured 22. Banerjee attributed the public’s discontent with the current administration’s policies and promised a fitting response through the election results. Contesting against CPI(M) candidate Pratikur Rahaman and BJP’s Abhijit Das, Banerjee aims to improve upon his 2019 victory margin of about 2.4 lakh votes. The Election Commission anticipates participation from over 10.06 crore electors, with approximately 5.24 crore male, 4.82 crore female, and 3574 third gender electors. All 13 parliamentary constituencies in Punjab are active in this phase, while six assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh are also subject to by-polls on June 1, crucial for the state’s Congress government. Notably, all six of these seats were previously held by Congress, and the outcome could influence the political landscape.

Simultaneously, polling is ongoing for the remaining 42 Assembly Constituencies in the Odisha State Legislative Assembly. Following the close of voting on June 1, exit poll results will be broadcast on various TV channels. The Election Commission has imposed a ban on exit polls from April 19 to June 1, coinciding with the polling period.

The culmination of high-voltage campaigning occurred on Thursday for this final phase of Lok Sabha polls. </excerpt>

Lok Sabha BJP candidate from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, exuded confidence in the BJP’s success in all four seats in Himachal Pradesh, attributing it to a pervasive “Modi wave” in the region. She arrived at a polling booth in Mandi to cast her vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections and urged voters to exercise their democratic rights, emphasizing the sacrifices made for this privilege. Kangana asserted, “There is a complete Modi wave in Himachal Pradesh. Our Prime Minister has conducted almost 200 rallies, gave at least 80-90 interviews in just two months.” Expressing allegiance to the BJP’s “400 paar” slogan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she declared, “We are soldiers of PM Modi, and will win all four seats in Himachal Pradesh.”

Responding to criticism of PM Modi’s meditation in Kanyakumari, Kangana defended him, stating, “Meditation is not new for the Prime Minister. Even when he was not a politician he used to meditate. Now these people have a problem with that too.” The Mandi constituency is poised for a high-profile contest with Kangana Ranaut entering politics to challenge the Congress stronghold, symbolized by the Virbhadra family. The Congress has fielded Himachal Pradesh Minister and Virbhadra Singh’s son, Vikramaditya Singh, as their candidate for the seat, intensifying the battle between two prominent figures.

Today marks the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, with Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, and Shimla constituencies in the fray, alongside by-polls in six assembly seats. Following casting her vote, RJD leader and former Bihar CM Rabri Devi expressed confidence in winning all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. “We will win all the 40 seats in Bihar. INDIA alliance will come to power,” Rabri Devi said. Rohini Acharya is the party candidate from the Saran Lok Sabha seat, pitted against BJP candidate Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

Elections in Bihar are contested in all seven phases. With 40 Lok Sabha constituencies, the fourth highest among all States and Union Territories, Bihar holds a crucial position in shaping Indian politics. The seventh phase marks a grand finish to the world’s largest polling marathon that began on the 19th of last month and has already covered six phases and 486 Lok Sabha seats. Voting started in the last 57 parliamentary constituencies at 7 am today across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. According to the Election Commission of India, over 10.06 crore electors including approximately 5.24 crore male, 4.82 crore female, and 3574 third gender electors are expected to exercise their franchise.

Kishan said that he was propagating the idea of PM Modi to end the VVIP culture in India.

“This is what our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taught us that we are servants of the public, we are not VIPs. As soon as PM Modi came, he ended the VIP culture in India by ending the concept of red beacons. When your head is so grounded, then you should remain a common man too. I hold no position above others now and prefer to stay humble. PM Modi has vanished the VIP culture in India and changed the politics of the nation. This is our culture and we should follow it,” Ravi Kishan told ANI.

“I have cast my vote for Viksit Bharat, Ram Rajya and to make India a “Vishwa guru”, Kishan said after casting his vote.
Earlier, in a video message on X, Kishan urged the voters to cast their vote in the “festival of democracy”.

“Friends, you all will be aware that today voting is being held in Gorakhpur under the seventh phase of Lok Sabha general elections. On this occasion, I humbly request all of you, the God-like voters who are the destiny makers of Gorakhpur, to exercise your right to vote in this great festival of democracy by discharging your duty as an aware voter,” Kishan wrote in a post on X.

“Every vote of yours is important and it will decide the future of your Lok Sabha and the country, therefore I once again appeal to all of you to participate enthusiastically in this festival of democracy,” he added.

Gorakpur-based BJP Lok Sabha candidate Ravi Kishan is up against Javed Ashraf of the BSP and Kajal Nishad of the SP. Ravi Kishan is relying on CM Yogi’s backing, as he represented Gorakhpur in the Lok Sabha for five terms.

Prior to this, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath supported BJP candidate Ravi Kishan in Gorakhpur by doing a roadshow.

With a margin of 3,01,664 votes, Kishan defeated Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Rambhual Nishad in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
The world’s greatest polling marathon, which started on the 19th of last month and has now covered six stages and 486 Lok Sabha seats, comes to a spectacular conclusion with the seventh phase.

The key contenders for this seat include BJP’s Ravi Kishan, SP’s Kajal Nishad, and BSP’s Javed Ashraf.

Ravi Kishan’s Appeal for ‘Ramrajya’

BJP candidate and actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan made a passionate appeal to voters, urging them to cast their votes to build a “Self-reliant India – Developed India” and to realize the concept of ‘Ramrajya’. In a post on X, Kishan wrote, “Today is the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections. My appeal to the respected voters is that you must vote to build a ‘Self-reliant India – Developed India’ and realize the concept of ‘Ramrajya’. Your one vote will become the basis for the bright future of the coming generations.”

Ravi Kishan is heavily relying on the support of CM Yogi Adityanath, who served five terms as MP from the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency. Earlier, Yogi Adityanath held a roadshow in Gorakhpur to garner support for Kishan.

The Challengers: Kajal Nishad and Javed Ashraf

SP candidate Kajal Nishad, known for her work in the Bhojpuri film industry and TV soaps like “Lapataganj,” is entering her first major political contest in these elections. Her entry adds a new dynamic to the race, with her popularity in the entertainment industry potentially influencing voter sentiment.

BSP’s Javed Ashraf is also in the running, making the contest a closely watched three-way battle.

The Significance of the Seventh Phase

The seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections marks the culmination of the world’s largest polling marathon, which began on the 19th of last month and has covered six phases and 486 Lok Sabha seats.

Prominent Candidates in the Final Phase

Among the notable candidates in this phase are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad, Nishikant Dubey, and Ravneet Singh Bittu, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Charanjit Singh Channi, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Misa Bharti.

Looking Back: 2019 Lok Sabha Elections

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Ravi Kishan secured a decisive victory against Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Rambhual Nishad with a margin of 3,01,664 votes. This phase is expected to be equally crucial, with heavyweights from various parties vying for dominance in the final stretch.

As the election fever reaches its peak, the final phase will determine the future political landscape of India, with the hopes and aspirations of millions hanging in the balance.

In a heartfelt letter addressed to Punjab voters ahead of the final phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has made a poignant appeal, urging citizens to safeguard democracy and the Constitution from what he describes as repeated assaults by the current regime.

Critique of BJP’s Economic Policies: Unimaginable Turmoil

Singh lamented the economic upheaval witnessed over the past decade under the two terms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. He criticized policies such as demonetization, the flawed implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), and the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, which he believes have led to a decline in GDP growth and widened socioeconomic disparities.

Comparison of GDP Growth: BJP vs. UPA Performance

Singh drew attention to the disparity in GDP growth rates between the BJP government and the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. He highlighted that while GDP growth averaged around eight percent during the UPA tenure, it has plummeted to below six percent under the BJP government.

Concerns Over Unemployment and Inflation: Widening Inequality

Expressing concern over unprecedented levels of unemployment and inflation, Singh stressed the need for urgent policy interventions to address these challenges. He cited data indicating a significant decline in household savings and underscored the detrimental impact on socioeconomic equality.

Farmers’ Protests and Agniveer Scheme: Government Critique

Singh criticized the government’s handling of the farmers’ protests and denounced the Agniveer military recruitment scheme as ill-conceived. He accused the BJP of undermining farmers’ livelihoods and questioned its commitment to addressing agrarian issues.

Appeal for Democratic Values: Upholding Punjab’s Legacy

The former Prime Minister invoked Punjab’s historical legacy of sacrifice and resilience, calling on voters to protect the nation’s democratic fabric. He urged citizens to uphold the values of inclusiveness, harmony, and brotherhood, emphasizing the pivotal role of Punjab in shaping India’s democratic ethos.

Criticism of PM Modi’s Rhetoric: Dignity of Public Discourse

Singh criticized Prime Minister Modi’s rhetoric, accusing him of lowering the standards of public discourse. He condemned the use of divisive language and urged voters to reject such tactics in favor of unity and integrity.

Rejecting Divisive Forces

Dr. Manmohan Singh letter serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of upholding democratic values and protecting the nation’s constitutional principles. His impassioned plea underscores the need for unity and integrity in the face of growing polarization and discord.

As Punjab prepares to cast its votes in the final phase of the Lok Sabha election, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s appeal resonates as a call to action for citizens to stand firm in defense of democracy. His unwavering commitment to upholding India’s democratic ethos serves as a beacon of hope amidst turbulent times.
