</excerpt>

Meta the parent company of Facebook, recently issued an apology after Mark Zuckerberg’s remark about India’s 2024 elections, facing backlash from officials who emphasized the government’s decisive victory and public trust.

During a podcast with US-based host Joe Rogan, Zuckerberg claimed that public dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic led to the defeat of most incumbent administrations, including India’s.

Meta Apology for Zuckerberg’s Remark

On Monday, Bhartiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey had said that a Parliamentary panel will summon representatives of Meta between January 20 and 24, seeking an apology for Mark Zuckerberg’s remarks.

As the world’s largest democracy with over 640 million voters participating in the 2024 elections, India saw the incumbent NDA government led by PM Narendra Modi secure a decisive victory. Ashwini Vaishnaw reiterated that the election results reaffirmed the public’s trust in Modi’s leadership.

Shivnath Thukral, who is the Meta India’s vice president of public policy shared a post on X, stated “Dear Honorable Minister Ashwini Vaishnav , Mark’s observation that many incumbent parties were not re-elected in 2024 elections holds true for several countries, But not India.” “We would like to apologize for this inadvertent error.
Implications for Meta Operations in India

However, Melania Trump chose not to attend the White House meeting with the Bidens.
</excerpt>

Donald Trump made a roaring comeback to Washington DC, marking his second visit since his historic win in the 2024 presidential election. Addressing House Republicans at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, the president-elect kicked off his speech with his signature confidence, stating, “It’s nice to win. It’s always nice to win.”

Trump credited his victory and the Republican Party’s strong performance, saying, “We had historic numbers, especially for the president. The House did very well — we helped secure 31 seats.”

“I Won’t Be Running Again Unless…”

During his speech, Trump reflected on his milestone as the second US president to win non-consecutive terms. “I suspect I won’t be running again unless you say, ‘He’s good, we got to figure out something else,’” he joked before the media was ushered out of the room.

Musk Joins Trump’s Team

Elon Musk accompanied Trump on this significant trip, shortly after being named co-leader of the new “Department of Government Efficiency” alongside biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. This initiative aims to streamline government operations under the new administration.

In a statement posted on X, Melania Trump’s office confirmed she would not attend the customary meeting with outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House. “Mrs. Trump will not be attending today’s meeting. She fully supports her husband’s return to the Oval Office and wishes him success in the transition process,” the statement read.

A Contentious White House Meeting

The upcoming meeting between Trump and Biden is expected to be one of the most tense transitions in recent history. Despite Melania’s absence, Trump remains focused on preparing for his second term.

Conclusion

With Trump’s return to power, the political landscape is set for significant shifts. His bold strategies and new alliances, including Musk’s involvement, promise an eventful term ahead.

</excerpt>

In a key victory for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, the state of California has been called in her favor by U.S. networks, adding 54 electoral college votes to her total. California, with the most electoral votes of any U.S. state, has long been a Democratic stronghold, and this win further solidifies Harris’s position in the 2024 presidential race.

The win is significant, as it brings Harris closer to the 270 electoral votes required to win the presidency. As the votes are still being counted in crucial swing states, California’s large electoral contribution could prove to be a pivotal factor in her path to the White House.

Harris, who has served as vice president under President Joe Biden, has campaigned on issues such as the economy, healthcare, and democracy, all of which resonated with California voters. As more results come in, her performance in the state will likely have a significant impact on the overall outcome of the election.

This victory in California is a major milestone as the 2024 election race continues to heat up.

With both parties waging last-minute lawsuits and campaigns, the fight for its 19 electoral votes could determine the next President of the United States.
</excerpt>

In the final days of the 2024 election, Pennsylvania has become the epicenter of legal and political skirmishes. Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have intensified their campaigns in the state, each vying for Pennsylvania’s pivotal 19 electoral votes — the highest among the seven critical swing states.

Legal Battles Surge in Pennsylvania

With the stakes high, both parties are turning to the courts. A recent GOP bid to block potentially thousands of mail-in ballots was shot down by the U.S. Supreme Court, yet Republicans secured a win regarding ballots lacking hand-written dates. These legal battles illustrate the heightened scrutiny around Pennsylvania’s voting regulations.

– Mail-In Ballots: The Pennsylvania Supreme Court rejected an attempt by Republicans to halt provisional ballots for incomplete mail-ins, dubbed “naked ballots.”
– Missing Dates: Another ruling blocked undated ballots, aligning with a GOP suit that cited election integrity as grounds for disqualification.

Bucks County and the “On Demand” Ballots Controversy

The Trump campaign also targeted Bucks County, where reports surfaced of voters being turned away during the “on demand” absentee voting process. Social media complaints led to a swift judicial intervention, extending the deadline by two days to ensure all voters were accommodated.

Elon Musk’s Election Giveaway Stirs Controversy

In an unusual twist, billionaire Elon Musk’s involvement has added fuel to the fire. Musk’s daily voter cash giveaway, deemed legal by his lawyers, sparked backlash, with Philadelphia’s district attorney labeling it a “grift.” Musk’s defense argued winners were selected based on “suitability” to represent his PAC’s interests, rather than random chance.

Georgia: Another Swing State in Legal Limbo

While Pennsylvania takes center stage, Georgia’s election processes are also under legal scrutiny. The Georgia Supreme Court is evaluating an appeal concerning absentee ballots, and a recent federal suit aims to restrict weekend advance voting. Democratic advocates argue that these challenges are attempts to limit voters’ access to absentee and weekend voting options.

Pennsylvania’s Pivotal Role in the Electoral College

Pennsylvania’s significance stems from the winner-takes-all Electoral College system. With Harris and Trump in a near-tie in national polls, winning Pennsylvania could provide the needed 19 electoral votes to push either candidate over the 270-mark. This high-stakes environment underscores why Pennsylvania remains a top prize in the 2024 presidential race.

Rallying support, Harris speaks about unity, voting rights, and addressing tensions on U.S. foreign policy.
</excerpt>

With the 2024 election just days away, Vice President Kamala Harris is urging Michigan voters to reject former President Trump’s claims of a “rigged” electoral system. Speaking at a Black church in Detroit, Harris called for a rejection of fear-driven tactics and a focus on unity.

A Call for Unity and Trust in Democracy

In a speech at Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ, Harris avoided directly naming Trump but addressed themes central to his campaign. “There are those who seek to deepen division, sow hate, spread fear and cause chaos,” she said, contrasting Trump’s rhetoric with her vision of a nation ready to turn the page on hate and division. Harris encouraged voters not to be swayed by messages suggesting their votes wouldn’t matter.

Standing with Michigan’s Arab American Community

Addressing reporters, Harris acknowledged the concerns of Michigan’s Arab American population over the ongoing U.S.-Israel alliance and the civilian toll in Gaza. She emphasized her commitment to peace, stating, “As president, I will do everything in my power to end the war and bring hostages home.”

Rallying Support in the Heart of the “Blue Wall”

Michigan, alongside Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, is a critical part of the Democratic base. Since Obama’s victories in the region, the state has seen shifting allegiances, making Harris’ engagement there essential. She spent the afternoon connecting with locals at Kuzzo’s Chicken and Waffles and discussing community issues with local leaders at a Black-owned barber shop in Pontiac.

Urging Black Voters to Stay Engaged

With Michigan’s Black voters being a key demographic, Harris has focused on engaging with Black communities, underscoring the importance of their participation in the election. She encouraged voters to reject “distractions” meant to discourage voting, emphasizing that their voices are pivotal.

</excerpt>

For most political candidates, losing a presidential election is a serious blow, but for Donald Trump, the stakes may be profoundly personal and catastrophic.
As November 5 draws near, Trump’s fate remains uncertain, with either a return to the presidency or facing serious legal consequences, including the risk of imprisonment.

If he wins, he will become the first criminal-recorded president in office, the highest executive authority, and nuclear codes in his pocket. Defeat may translate to more court battles and time in jail.

Historian and biographer of Trump Gwenda Blair said The Guardian that Trump long built an image of invincibility. He said, “He branded himself as the guy who gets away with it,” and added, “he’s facing a lot of moments of reckoning. He can go to jail. He can end up considerably less wealthy than he is. No matter what happens and no matter whether he wins or loses, there’ll be a reckoning about his health.”. Death, illness, dementia – even he cannot avoid those things.

Trump has spent his entire career crossing lines of law and ethics. In the 1970s, the Justice Department sued him and his father for allegedly discriminating against Black applicants in their apartment rentals.

Many of Trump’s casinos and real estate projects have financially faltered over the years: Trump Plaza and the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, for example, experienced financial hardship, filed bankruptcies, and shook some of the glory around him as a successful businessman during the 1990s and early 2000s.

He remained in legal troubles with the real estate training program, which was named Trump University and accused of fraud and false advertising. He settled the case in 2016 for $25 million without admitting any wrongdoing.

This time, as the country approaches the time of voting, the political loss threat is not a solitary issue but a very personal one for Trump himself. A win would ensure that he has another opportunity to dictate American politics. However, a loss threatens him with legal challenges and the possibility of finally accounting for his past conduct.

This November, a vote may well decide the depth of his unyielding conviction that he can do anything with impunity.

Trump Leads Harris In Betting Markets – Can You Trust The Odds?

<excerpt>While polls show a neck-and-neck battle between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, betting markets reveal a different story. Trump is leading with up to 58% in some markets, but are these numbers reliable, or is there more behind the betting odds?
</excerpt>

As the 2024 election heats up, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are neck-and-neck according to traditional polls. But behind the scenes, betting markets are telling a wildly different story – one where Trump is comfortably ahead. On Polymarket, Trump holds a commanding 58% chance of victory, while Harris trails at just 42%.

Betting Markets Shift in Trump’s Favor

On October 15, Trump hit a new record high in the betting markets. In key swing states, the gap between him and Harris is even more significant. Trump is dominating in Arizona with a 68% forecast compared to Harris’s 32%, and he holds a 64% lead in Georgia, 57% in Pennsylvania, 54% in Michigan, and 53% in Wisconsin. Even in Nevada, where Harris has a narrow lead at 51%, Trump is right on her heels at 49%.

Trump’s lead just set another record high against Harris.

Trump ? • 57.7% chance
Harris ? • 41.9% chance pic.twitter.com/jYUO5Mg3WR

— Polymarket (@Polymarket) October 15, 2024

This comes as a surprise to many political observers, given that national polls have both candidates neck-and-neck. So why the drastic difference? Betting markets like PredictIt, Betfair, and Smarkets are all predicting a Trump victory, with figures consistently showing Trump with a 54–58% chance of winning across various platforms. Meanwhile, Harris lingers in the mid-40% range.

What’s Driving Trump’s Edge in Betting Markets?

Some believe that betting markets are better at predicting outcomes because they rely on real money and people putting their stakes on the line. According to advocates, these markets factor in real-time shifts and insider knowledge that traditional polling might miss. For example, Trump’s strong performance in swing states is a critical indicator, as these are likely to decide the final outcome.

However, not everyone is convinced. Critics, including The New York Times, caution against trusting betting odds too much, highlighting potential manipulation and unusual betting patterns. Could high-profile endorsements, like those from figures such as Elon Musk, be swaying the betting markets more than actual voter sentiment?

Swing States Hold the Key

As always, the election may come down to a few battleground states. In Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, Trump is dominating the projections, but the tight numbers in states like Nevada show that Harris is still in the game. While betting markets predict Trump’s victory, traditional polls and political analysts remain cautious, leaving voters and bettors alike in suspense.

A Closer Look at Betting Trends

Despite the skepticism, betting markets like PredictIt, Betfair, and Smarkets are highly influential in shaping public perception. Trump is leading across the board with a forecasted 54–58% chance of winning, compared to Harris’s 42–46%. Websites like Betsson, Bovada, and Bwin also reflect this trend, consistently placing Trump ahead.

The Big Question – Can Betting Markets Be Trusted?

Betting markets may have their appeal, but questions remain. Are these numbers reflective of reality, or are they being swayed by outside influences and speculative bets? As the election draws nearer, only time will tell whether the bettors or the pollsters got it right.

In this tight and unpredictable race, the final outcome remains anyone’s guess. But one thing is certain – both Trump and Harris have a lot at stake, and every move in the battleground states could tip the scales.

With election season heating up, will these bold proposals be enough to win back Black male voters?
</excerpt>

As the 2024 election season intensifies, Vice President Kamala Harris is pulling out all the stops with a new plan aimed at empowering Black men. Her “Opportunity Agenda” promises to legalize marijuana at the federal level, safeguard cryptocurrency assets, and provide financial support to Black entrepreneurs. These moves are designed to win over a demographic that has shown signs of slipping support for Harris as she prepares to face Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Harris’ strategy comes at a pivotal moment, with only weeks remaining until Election Day. Recent polls show Trump gaining traction among Black male voters, making it clear that Harris needs to act swiftly.

Legalizing Marijuana: A Game-Changer for Black Men

On Monday, Harris unveiled her push for nationwide marijuana legalization. Unlike the current Biden administration, which has focused on expunging past marijuana convictions, Harris’ plan aims for a full overhaul, advocating for the safe cultivation, distribution, and possession of recreational marijuana. Her campaign emphasizes the need to break down systemic barriers that have disproportionately impacted Black men, from police targeting to limited economic opportunities in the cannabis industry.

“By legalizing marijuana, we’ll ensure Black men have a fair chance to earn a living and build wealth in this growing market,” Harris said during a campaign stop in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Trump’s Stance on Marijuana: Competing for Black Votes

Interestingly, former President Donald Trump has also aligned himself with pro-cannabis policies. He recently voiced his support for the legalization of recreational marijuana in Florida, signaling a potential shift in his strategy to appeal to Black voters. With 61% of Black men supporting marijuana legalization, this issue is one that both candidates will likely use to court the crucial demographic.

A Comprehensive Plan to Boost Black Economic Power

Harris’ broader plan includes several initiatives aimed at supporting Black communities, particularly Black men:

1 million fully forgivable loans for Black entrepreneurs, offering up to $20,000 to boost economic opportunities.

Training and mentorship programs to help Black men secure jobs in high-demand industries.

Crypto regulations, catering to the over 20% of Black Americans who own or have owned cryptocurrency.

National Health Equity Initiative, focused on improving health outcomes for Black men.

With the election fast approaching, will these bold initiatives be enough to win back the trust and votes of Black men, or will Donald Trump’s outreach strategies continue to gain ground? The race is on, and the stakes are high.

</excerpt>

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and former Chief Minister Champai Soren has pledged to work towards uplifting the tribal and poor communities in Jharkhand. Speaking at a gathering in Seraikela Kharsawan, Soren vowed to bring significant changes to the state, aiming to boost prosperity and enhance the status of its people on the national stage.

“In the coming days, I will work for the tribal and poor people in such a way that I will give a new identity to Jharkhand in the country. I will work for the prosperity and respect of the people of Jharkhand,” Soren asserted, emphasizing his dedication to the state’s development.

Recently, Soren hinted at starting a new political party but clarified on Friday that he bears no grudge against his former organization. He revealed that the decision to form a new party came after thousands of workers from across Jharkhand reached out to him, expressing interest in joining forces. He also mentioned that if a suitable ally is found before the upcoming elections, a partnership would be considered.

“We have started our journey alone; we have no ill will towards the organization. New chapters will be added to it, and we will move our political steps forward with strength. Thousands of workers from different areas of the state contacted me and expressed their desire to work together. That is why we have decided to form an organization. If we find a good ally before the elections, we will also form a friendship with that ally,” Soren stated.

On Thursday, Soren had announced plans to form a new organization and actively participate in Jharkhand’s political arena once again. He expressed optimism about the public’s response to his recent tours of various districts, including Seraikela and Chaibasa. During the second day of his tour, Soren stated that everything was progressing well and that the public was joining his movement.

“Today, I visited three districts, including Seraikela and Chaibasa. It was the second day of the tour of my new chapter. Everything is going well, the public is joining us. I will actively enter Jharkhand politics again. I will form an organization and try to make friends in the way before the Assembly elections…I will reveal everything within a week. When I have started a new chapter, I can only stay in one place. I will reveal everything after a week,” he said.

As Jharkhand gears up for its Assembly elections in 2024, Champai Soren’s return to active politics could significantly impact the political landscape. His plans to form a new organization and possibly align with an ally are being closely watched, with potential implications for the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, the BJP has fully prepared to challenge the current government as the political climate in the state intensifies.

As Jill exited a coffee shop in Tampa, Florida, one reporter asked her, “What is your message for House Democrats who are calling for your husband to drop out of the race?” Another asked, “How are you feeling about the state of the race?” Jill was seen walking past the press, asking them angrily, “Why are you screaming at me? You know me. Don’t scream at me. Just let me talk.” The first lady then entered a vehicle without answering the questions.

President Biden has been facing calls to drop out of the race ever since his poor performance in a presidential debate against Donald Trump. Jill Biden is known for often being defensive of her husband. She has reportedly been supportive of Biden’s plan to continue in the race despite growing calls for him to step aside for the greater good.

Social Media Reactions

Jill Biden was criticized in the comment section of the video for her attitude. One user wrote, “But she didn’t talk! She didn’t even bother answering the question. What the hell is her point?” Another commented, “‘Just let me talk’ then gets in SUV without a word.”

Other reactions included, “They’re screaming at you because you (and Joe, and Karine, and John) continue to gaslight them. You never give them a simple answer to their questions. It’s always some bizarre, arcane explanation followed by an assurance that it’s all ‘normal’ when we can all see it’s not.”

One user wrote, “She says ‘let’s talk’ then walks away. Just as nutty as her husband,” while another joked, “‘Just come up and talk’ (runs away to car behind Secret Service agents).” Another user simply remarked, “Walk away, best answer I have heard all day.”

While, former Karnataka CM Bommai has managed to secure 7,05,538 votes, this 2024 lok sabha results.

Overall, in Karnataka, BJP has won 15 seats out of 28, and is currently leading on 2 seats.

Meanwhile, BJP’s ally Janata Dal (Secular), has currently won two seats. The opposition party congress has so far won 7 seats and is leading on 2 seats.

However, unlike 2019 Lok Sabha election, BJP led NDA is heading towards majority with reduced strength. And opposition INDIA bloc has put up a strong performance.

As per latest trends, BJP seems to fall short on simple majority. Hence, it is far from fulfilling its ‘400 Paar’ target.

</excerpt>

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Result: Shashi Tharoor retains Thiruvananthapuramn for the fourth time defeating the Union Minister and BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

As the Lok Sabha Election 2024 Result comes to a close, let’s look at the career of Shashi Tharoor in Indian politics.

Education

Tharoor’s educational achievements are noteworthy, with degrees from esteemed institutions like St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in the United States. He excelled academically, demonstrating a sharp intellect and a talent for languages, evident in his mastery of English and his ability to articulate complex ideas eloquently.

Tharoor’s career began in the 1980s when he joined the United Nations, serving in various roles over nearly three decades. He held significant positions in peacekeeping and humanitarian affairs, earning recognition for his efforts in conflict resolution and promoting sustainable development globally.

Tharoor’s Entry in Politics

In 2009, Tharoor entered Indian politics by winning a seat in the Lok Sabha, representing the Thiruvananthapuram constituency in Kerala. As a member of the Indian National Congress, he quickly became a charismatic and articulate leader, captivating audiences with his passionate speeches and thoughtful insights.

Tharoor’s prominence within the Congress party grew substantially after he exceeded expectations in the party’s presidential election in October, running against Mallikarjun Kharge, who had the support of the powerful All India Congress Committee (AICC) establishment.

In Kerala, Tharoor’s ambition to play a larger role in state politics is likely to alter the dynamics within the Congress’s state unit, particularly affecting the upper-caste Hindu Nair faction, currently led by AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, Opposition leader VD Satheesan, former Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, and former state party president K Muraleedharan.

Tharoor’s increasing influence is expected to create divisions within the Nair camp. Despite his defeat in the presidential elections, Congress MP from Kozhikode MK Raghavan and Youth Congress vice-president KS Sabarinadhan have expressed support for Tharoor. The backing of K Muraleedharan is also likely to bolster Tharoor’s activities and strengthen the party.

Tharoor’s appeal crosses party lines, and he is widely regarded as a non-conformist within the Congress. He frequently expresses progressive views on various social and political issues, advocating for liberal policies, gender equality, and LGBTQ+ rights. His strong stance on secularism and advocacy for a pluralistic society have earned him respect from a broad spectrum of people across India.

Beyond politics, Tharoor is a prolific author, with numerous critically acclaimed books to his name. His literary works reflect his intellectual depth and command over a wide range of subjects, including history, politics, and culture. Tharoor’s most famous book, “The Great Indian Novel,” is a satirical retelling of the Indian epic Mahabharata, intertwining mythological characters with real-life political figures. His works are celebrated for their insightful analysis and elegant prose.

Shashi Tharoor is contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Thiruvananthapuram.

Gadkari’s political career began during his college days when he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Rising through the ranks of the BJP, he served as the President of the Maharashtra BJP from 2004 to 2009, overseeing significant electoral victories for the party in the state.

During his tenure as the Minister for Public Works in the Maharashtra government from 1995 to 1999, Gadkari spearheaded infrastructure projects like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, revolutionizing connectivity in the region.

Gadkari’s commitment to social work was strengthened following the imposition of emergency by Indira Gandhi in June 1975, leading him to dedicate his life to public service. He holds degrees in M.Com, LLB, and a diploma in business management.

Gadkari is set to contest once again from the Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency in 2024, aiming for a third consecutive victory.

Meanwhile other parties like, Jansena party is now leading on 17 seats and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), is leading on 22 seats in the southern state.

Both AP’s Lok Sabha elections and Assembly polls, are witnessing a stiff fight between ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), the Congress-led INDIA coalition, and the BJP-led NDA alliance, which include Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP and the Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena Party (JSP).

However, the exit polls had predicted the win for NDA in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Polls.

Moreover, the ruling YSRCP has contested on all 175 seats, in a bid to secure its third term in the state. While TDP is contesting on 144 assembly seats.

Previously in 2019, the YSRCP secured a sweeping victory in Andhra Pradesh, capturing 151 out of the 175 seats in the Assembly, resulting in the overthrow of TDP.

Amidst the vote counting for Lok Sabha elections 2024, Odisha’s ruling party Biju Janata Dal (BJD), is leading on 24 seats in the assembly election per early trends.

Meanwhile, Bhartiya Janata Party is close to achieving the halfway mark with 43 seats revealed ECI on assembly elections trends on Tuesday.

According to Poll Body’s current data, other parties like INC (Indian National Congress) and CPI(M) are respectively leading in one and five seats in Odisha.

</excerpt>

Samajwadi Chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused district magistrates and police administrations belonging to various UP districts of illegal detention of opposition party workers, so they do not participate in vote counting on Monday.

Taking to X, Yadav said, “The honourable Supreme Court, the Election Chief @ECISVEEP @CEOUP and the Police Chief @dgpup @Uppolice should immediately take cognizance of the fact that in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, apart from Mirzapur, Aligarh, Kannauj, the District Magistrate and the Police Administration are illegally detaining the political workers of the opposition in their homes so that they cannot participate in the counting of votes tomorrow,”

While asking for their urgent release, Yadav has accused the ruling BJP government for alleged rigging of elections openly.

‘Everyone has the right to protect their vote, and this is even more so when a government is in power which has the audacity to rig the elections even in front of the cameras installed by the court. Such incidents should be stopped immediately, and people detained administratively should be released immediately.’ said Yadav.

Later, he also asked government to not allegedly indulge in unethical practices, that might trigger public anger.

He also hoped that biased DMs and administrative officers will be terminated immediately.

Meanwhile, the counting of Lok Sabha election has started from 8 am today.

Earlier, during a press conference on Monday, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar applauded all the voters who participated in the Lok Sabha elections.

It remains to be seen whether the BJP-led NDA Alliance will secure a third term or if the INDIA Bloc will successfully interrupt the BJP’s streak of victories.

‘Elaborate security arrangements have been made by Delhi Police for the vote-counting day of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. On June 4, during the counting process, around 70 companies of the force will be deployed at all seven counting centers across Delhi,’ announced police.

Security Arrangements Made by the Police

Talking to ANI about security measures, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), central Devesh Kumar Mahla, revealed that these counting centers have been allotted certain guidelines by the Election Commission of India. Taking these guidelines into account, the police forces are accordingly deployed.

Additionally, CAPF forces have been deployed, and the model code of conduct restrictions remain in effect.

Ahead of the vote counting day, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory, identifying key roads where traffic restrictions remain in effect. Diversions have commenced from 5 a.m. to facilitate seamless vehicle movement.

As per the advisory, ‘The movement of traffic on the road stretch or carriageway from Gagan Cinema T-Point to Nand Nagri Flyover on Wazirabad Road (Mangal Pandey Road) in Delhi is restricted from 5:00 a.m. onwards.’

In addition, the advisory revealed that Mangal Pandey Road will remain closed for general traffic from 5:00 a.m. onwards, and traffic will be shifted from Gagan Cinema T-Point. The public is also advised to avoid the below road.

Taking vote counting into account at Commonwealth Games Village, Akshardham, there will be traffic restrictions and diversions in the area.

Special traffic arrangements will also be made in August Kranti Marg and Siri Fort Road.

As a result, commuters are asked to cooperate by steering clear or bypassing the above-mentioned roads. Moreover, people who are going to ISBT, railway stations, or airports are asked to plan their travel carefully, so that they allocate enough time for the journey.
