Yash Dayal, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer from Uttar Pradesh, has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on allegations of rape, fraud, and emotional exploitation. A woman from Ghaziabad filed a police complaint against the 27-year-old cricketer, claiming that he lured her into a relationship by falsely promising marriage.

Woman Alleges 5-Year Relationship and Emotional Abuse

The complaint, submitted via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal on June 21, accuses Dayal of engaging in a five-year-long relationship under false pretences.

“He repeatedly made physical relations with me by falsely promising marriage and introduced me to his family, who assured that I would be their daughter-in-law. I maintained the relationship with complete honesty and dedication,” the woman said.

She alleged emotional, mental, and physical exploitation during their relationship and said that Dayal borrowed money from her over the years.

Section 69 of BNS Treats Deceitful Sexual Acts as Fraud

Under the newly enforced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Section 69 criminalises sexual acts committed on false promises, treating them as fraudulent exploitation. The section allows for up to 10 years of imprisonment if found guilty.

The woman claimed she possesses substantial evidence — including chat transcripts, screenshots, video calls, and photographs — to support her complaint. According to Indian Express, Yash Dayal has already recorded his statement with the police. However, he and his family have not issued any public comment.

Allegations of Multiple Affairs and Mental Health Struggles

The complainant further alleged that Dayal had relationships with several other women, which contributed to her declining mental health.

“I tried to end my life many times because I couldn’t get out of the mental pain, and he and his family kept giving me false assurances. His relationship with other women caused me deep mental trauma and broke me down,” she said.

Cricketer Yet to Make International Debut Despite IPL Success

Yash Dayal made his IPL debut in 2022 for Gujarat Titans and was a key bowler in RCB’s 2025 title-winning season, grabbing 13 wickets in 15 matches. Known for his skill in the death overs, Dayal received his maiden India call-up in 2024 for the home series against Bangladesh, but has not yet debuted internationally.
