In a landmark move, Nepal will host the West Indies for a three-match T20I series this September in Sharjah. Although the games will take place at a neutral venue, Nepal is officially designated as the host.
First-Ever Bilateral Series Between the Two Teams
This series marks the first bilateral encounter between Nepal and the West Indies. Cricket West Indies (CWI) hailed the event as historic and emphasized its goal of supporting emerging cricketing nations.
CWI Pledges Support for Global Cricket Growth
CWI CEO Chris Dehring called the series more than just a tournament. He said, “This series is more than just a set of international matches—it’s a celebration of the game’s expanding global footprint.” He added that as a full-member cricket nation, West Indies has a duty to help other countries grow.
Dehring noted the importance of helping Nepal during this crucial period in its cricketing development.
“We are proud to stand with Nepal at this moment in their history and look forward to exciting and competitive cricket in Sharjah,” he said.
Match Schedule Confirmed
The T20I series will begin on September 27, with the second game on September 28, and the final match on September 30.
All three games will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Thanks to Organisers and Partners
Cricket West Indies also thanked the Cricket Association of Nepal and the Emirates Cricket Board for their cooperation.
The board expressed hope for continued collaboration to grow the sport worldwide.
