Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have made a key change. They brought in Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani to replace South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi. Ngidi will leave to join his national team for the World Test Championship Final. This change will take effect on May 26, 2025, as per the IPL Media Advisory.
Muzarabani Adds Firepower
Muzarabani brings international experience and pace. He has taken 78 wickets in 70 T20Is for Zimbabwe. He also played in 12 Tests and 55 ODIs. RCB signed the 28-year-old for ₹75 lakh. His arrival strengthens the team’s pace attack for the final phase of IPL 2025.
RCB Focuses on Playoff Push
RCB have already qualified for the playoffs. They sit second on the points table with 17 points. The team has eight wins, three losses, and one no result. With two matches left, they aim to finish strong.
KKR Replaces Powell with Shukla
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also made a squad update. They signed leg-spinner Shivam Shukla as a replacement for Rovman Powell. Powell will undergo surgery for a tonsil issue. Shukla, who plays for Madhya Pradesh, joins the squad for ₹30 lakh. He has picked up eight wickets in eight T20s.
KKR Looks to End Well
KKR’s title defense is over. A washout in Bengaluru ended their playoff hopes. They now have one match left against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi. The team plans to test new talent. KKR stands sixth with five wins, six losses, and two abandoned games. They finished with 12 points.
