Legendary midfielder Luka Modric will bid farewell to Real Madrid on Saturday. The Madrid favourite will take the stage after the game against Real Sociedad to announce his departure from the club after serving them for 13 years, when he came in from Tottenham at 26.
End of an Era: Modric to Depart Real Madrid
The Croatian has won multiple trophies in his time at Real Madrid, notably 6 Champions League titles, 4 LaLiga titles, and 2 Copa Del Rey Trophies. Modric, who was signed by Jose Mourinho in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur, fir 30 million pounds could be considered the biggest bargain of his generation as Luka went on to lead Madrid to glory by winning the Champions League in his second season at the club after he assisted the goal from the corner with a perfect delivery that was headed in by Sergio Ramos to equalise against Atletico Madrid which then led them to victory in extra time. Modric also won the Ballon d’Or in 2018 after captaining Croatia into the World Cup final and winning the Champions League with Real Madrid.
Changing of the Guard
