The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially released the updated schedule for the remainder of IPL 2025. The tournament, which had been temporarily paused due to escalating cross-border tensions, will now resume on May 17, with the final match scheduled for June 3.

Revised Plan Includes 17 Matches & Two Double-Headers

Following discussions with government authorities, security agencies, and key stakeholders, the BCCI has decided to move forward with the tournament. A total of 17 matches will be played across six venues, featuring two double-headers, both on Sundays.

Playoff Dates Confirmed

The playoff phase has been structured as follows:

  • Qualifier 1 – May 29

  • Eliminator – May 30

  • Qualifier 2 – June 1

  • Final – June 3

BCCI Acknowledges Armed Forces’ Role

In an official release, the BCCI expressed gratitude, stating, “opportunity to once again salute the bravery and resilience of India’s armed forces, whose efforts have enabled the safe return of cricket. The Board reaffirms its commitment to national interest while ensuring the successful completion of the league.”

The tournament was suspended last week amid rising military tensions between India and Pakistan. With a ceasefire in effect as of Saturday, cricket fans can once again gear up for an action-packed IPL finish.
