Adnan Siddiqui Criticizes Karachi Stadium Experience at Champions Trophy 2025: “Itna Mehnga Ticket…”

During Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2025 opener against New Zealand, Pakistani actor and producer Adnan Siddiqui voiced his disappointment over his performance at the National Stadium in Karachi. He turned to social media to voice his anger, pointing out the blocked view from the VIP seating area and slamming the stadium’s architecture.

Impeded View and High Ticket Price

Siddiqui revealed on social media in a video how railings and a shadow further reduced visibility and obstructed his view of the game. When the viewing experience was less than ideal, he wondered whether it was worth buying costly tickets.

Main stadium pe hoon. Ab mujhe ye bataiye, itna mehnga ticket le, aur aankh ke samne ye ho, aur aage woh shadow, to kya nazar ayega..ghanta! Aur dusri zabardast baat batau aapko, aisa lag raha hai ke main Dubai mein baith ke yeh match dekh raha hoon,” Adnan Siddiqui remarked.

(“I am at the stadium. Now tell me, buy such an expensive ticket, and this is in front of your eyes, and that shadow ahead, what will you see..hour! And let me tell you another amazing thing: it feels like I am watching this match sitting in Dubai.”)

New Zealand Sparkles, Pakistan Let Down

While stadium problems overwhelmed talks off the field, New Zealand’s on-field output further depressed Pakistan’s morale. With excellent centuries from Will Young and Tom Latham, New Zealand reached an outstanding total of 320/5 in 50 overs.

Failing to take advantage of their home field, Pakistan bowled for 260 in 47.2 overs and fell 60 runs behind in their chase. The underwhelming show left the 29,300 people in the stadium disheartened.

Pakistan’s Outstanding Recovery at ICC Competitions

In almost 30 years, the Champions Trophy 2025 signifies the first ICC tournament held in Pakistan. President Asif Ali Zardari attended the game, joining thousands of Karachi fans to witness the historic occasion. Despite the event’s significance, concerns about Pakistan’s subpar performance and stadium infrastructure took center stage.

Comments from fans and plans

Social media discussions over Pakistan’s stadium infrastructure and the need for better designs, particularly for crucial games, were sparked by Siddiqui’s statement.
Fans also raised similar issues, therefore encouraging officials to improve the viewing experience to meet overseas levels.

More Champions Trophy games are scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan, so the spotlight will be not only on the performance of the team but also on the development of the stadium infrastructure to guarantee a more comfortable experience for fans.
