Welcoming a child is always a joyous occasion, but one family’s celebration became extra special when they welcomed the first baby girl born in their family in 56 years. A now-viral video on Instagram captures the heartwarming homecoming, and it has touched millions online.

The video begins with a convoy of balloon-decorated cars approaching the house amid bursting fireworks and cheering, setting the tone for a royal welcome. The home’s entrance dazzles in hues of pink, with floral garlands, balloon arches, and flower petals adorning every corner. On the floor, a beautiful floral message reads, “Welcome Baby.”

Traditional Rituals and Modern Joy

The family starts with a puja ceremony to bless the newborn. In line with Hindu tradition, the baby’s feet are gently dipped in kumkum water. Her footprints are then stamped onto a white sheet, marking her symbolic first steps into her home.

In another heartwarming moment, the father holds his daughter in his arms and helps her nudge a kalash (a small pot filled with rice) at the entrance, a ritual reminiscent of Griha Pravesh, symbolising the girl’s auspicious arrival into the family.

The video caption reads: “Welcoming our baby girl… Blessed with a girl after 56 years in our family.”

Netizens Shower Love

The video has garnered over 8 million views, sparking an outpouring of love and appreciation in the comments.

One user wrote, “Grateful to see this type of welcome for a daughter, otherwise this cruel world only wants a son!”
Another commented, “Every girl deserves this kind of welcome but some are not lucky like you baby doll. GBU (God bless you).”
“Now that’s princess treatment,” remarked another, while someone else added, “So beautiful to watch, love the culture.”

Past Moments of Joy

This isn’t the first time such a celebration for a baby girl has gone viral. Last year, another video won hearts during Navratri when a newborn girl was dressed as Maa Ambe by hospital staff, celebrating her arrival as a divine blessing.
