There is anger in the Vegetable Market Agent Association due to the implementation of a lump-sum tax. Due to this, on Monday, vegetable market commission agents protested under the leadership of Haryana Vegetable Market Commission Executive President Nitin Janghu and the chairmanship of new vegetable market chief Nandlal Thukral.
The angry brokers raised slogans against the government and expressed their anger by burning copies of the tax. After this, a demand letter was handed over to Market Committee Secretary Paramjeet Nandal in the name of CA Marketing Board, Panchkula. The agents, expressing their anger, said that a lump sum tax was being forcefully imposed on them. Which they are not able to afford. He said, they are commission agents and pay fees according to the work they do. But, here they are being charged a year›s tax in advance without even doing any work. I am ready to pay market fees as before, but he will not tolerate the forceful tax being imposed on him under any circumstances. He added Acting President Nitin Janghu said that the government is imposing taxes on them like the British. Regarding this, he will soon meet the commission agents in other parts of the state and unite them so that a big movement can be started. Many participated in the demonstration.Nitin Janghu said that the way taxes are being imposed on him, his business is on the verge of collapse. If this tax is not withdrawn soon, they will not be able to work. He said that due to this tax, the middlemen are facing a crisis of livelihood. If the government does not take care of them soon, they will close the market indefinitely.
