A serious aviation mishap was narrowly averted on Friday in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district when a private training aircraft overturned while landing at the Sukatra airstrip. The aircraft, operated by Redbird Aviation Pvt. Ltd., was being flown by a trainee pilot during a routine training session.

According to initial reports, the aircraft lost its balance on the runway while attempting to land, which caused it to overturn. Thankfully, there was no fire or explosion, and the trainee pilot onboard escaped without injury.

Allegations of Concealment

Sources allege that soon after the incident, officials from Redbird Aviation Pvt. Ltd. quickly covered the overturned aircraft with a tarpaulin, allegedly in an attempt to hide the accident from public view.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by the authorities or the company regarding the cause of the incident or whether any investigation is underway.

Not an Isolated Incident

This isn’t the first time such a mishap has occurred during pilot training sessions. Earlier this month, a trainee aircraft crashed during take-off at Uttar Pradesh’s Dhanipur Airstrip after hitting an airport wall. The trainee pilot onboard had a narrow escape.

In March last year, another training aircraft crashed during an emergency landing at Guna Airport in Madhya Pradesh. The aircraft had taken off from Sagar, and while attempting to land at Guna, it lost balance and sped off the runway, injuring a female pilot on board.
