Under the guidance of Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor of Chandigarh University and Founder of the Chandigarh Welfare Trust (CWT), religious leaders from various faiths gathered at Rani Lakshmi Bai Mahila Bhawan in Sector 38, Chandigarh, to donate blood on the occasion of Prime Minister Modi’s 73rd birthday. Leaders representing Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi communities came together to emphasize unity, integrity, and communal harmony through this act. The blood donation drive resulted in the collection of 150 units of blood from diverse religious communities.
Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor of Chandigarh University and Founder of CWT, highlighted India’s secular strength and its long-standing tradition of interfaith harmony. He stressed the importance of unity in diversity and expressed his commitment to the nation’s development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Sandhu further emphasized the significance of blood donation as a means of serving humanity and commended PM Modi’s ‘Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative, aimed at ensuring timely blood access to those in need. He called upon all citizens, especially the youth, to contribute to this noble cause.
The religious leaders, irrespective of their backgrounds, thanked Satnam Singh Sandhu for his selfless service to the people of Chandigarh. They echoed the message of ‘One India, One Blood’ and emphasized the importance of blood donation as a form of service to humanity. Acharya Om Prakash, chief priest of Sanatan Dharma Mandir, Sector 16, Chandigarh, appreciated the noble initiative by IMF and highlighted the significance of blood donation as a way to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday.
Lokesh Muni, founder of the Acharya Muni Mission, stressed that blood donation is a pure form of service to humanity, transcending all religious boundaries. He expressed faith in PM Modi’s leadership and India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation during ‘Amrit Kaal.’ Sufi Sant Ghulam Haider Kadri emphasized the unity of all despite religious differences and praised PM Modi’s mission to make India a ‘Vishwa Guru.’ Chandigarh Welfare Trust, a nonprofit organization founded by Satnam Singh Sandhu, is dedicated to the welfare of Chandigarh’s citizens. The organization aims to improve the quality of life in Chandigarh and uphold its historical status as a model city for India and the world.
