On Friday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced the creation of three new districts. These include Kuchaman, Malpura, and Sujangarh. After announcing the new districts, Gehlot shared the information on his social media handle ‘X.’ The Chief Minister wrote that based on public demand and the recommendation of a high-level committee, three new districts will be formed in Rajasthan. He also stated that in the future, according to the recommendations of the high-level committee, efforts will be made to resolve issues related to demarcation, etc.
It should be noted that Kuchaman was previously part of the Nagaur district. However, CM Gehlot has made it a new district, separating it from Didwana-Kuchaman. In this regard, there have been statements and discussions between legislators Mahendra Chaudhary from Nawan and Congress legislator Chetan Dudi from Didwana about making their respective constituencies district headquarters. Both even presented their arguments before the Chief Minister. As a result, the Chief Minister has now separated Didwana from Kuchaman.
It’s worth noting that Rajasthan previously had 33 districts. Gehlot recently created 17 more districts. With the creation of three more districts, the total number of districts in Rajasthan has now increased to 53.
It should be noted that in Nagaur, MP Hanuman Beniwal and former MP Jyoti Mirdha have a significant vote bank. In this regard, Jyoti Mirdha recently joined the BJP. It’s been speculated that the government has made efforts to separate Didwana and Kuchaman in order to please voters in both vote banks. Sujangarh has been separated from Churu district. Churu is considered the stronghold of leader Rajendra Rathore. However, in terms of seats, Congress is ahead in the area. Nevertheless, there has been a significant effort to influence the voters in both BJP and Congress vote banks. Manoj Meghwal, a Congress MLA, won in the by-elections from Sujangarh. Before that, his father, Master Bhawarlal Meghwal, had been an MLA for a long time. After his father’s demise, Manoj won in the by-election.
It should be noted that a new district, Malpura, has been created from the Tonk district. Tonk is considered a stronghold of Sachin Pilot. Additionally, Tonk is known for Sachin Pilot’s strong influence. Considering the distance between the headquarters of Tonk and Malpura, CM Ashok Gehlot has decided to create a new district, Malpura. In the previous legislative assembly elections, Congress formed an alliance with the National Lok Dal in Malpura and fielded wrestler Rannvijay as a candidate. However, Rannvijay was defeated by BJP’s Kanhaiyalal. In this context, CM Gehlot has made a bold move to win Malpura again.
