Punjab Police DSP allegedly opens fire at typist, investigation on

An incident of firing has been reported tonight in Basti Ibrahim Khan located on Jalandhar-Kapurthala Road. It has been revealed that DSP Dalbir Singh, posted in PAP, fired at the son of a typist. The police have taken the accused DSP into custody.
The public firing incident has created a tense atmosphere in the village. The rural police of Jalandhar is conducting an investigation into the matter. Two bullet casings have been recovered from the scene.
Gurmej, a typist residing in Basti Ibrahim Khan near Mand village on Kapurthala Road, informed that there was a program at the Sarpanch’s house in the village today, where people had gathered. During the night, Gurjot, his son, was passing by with his friends when an argument ensued over giving way to a person attending the program.
According to Gurmej, the person, identified as a Punjab Police DSP, who himself was a revolver license holder, allegedly pulled out his revolver and fired during the confrontation. The firing incident created panic in the village.
Gurmej claims that the village Sarpanch confiscated the revolver from the involved individual and handed it over. Two bullet casings have been recovered.
Upon receiving the information, Jalandhar rural police have reached the scene. DSP Kartarpur Balbir Singh informed that the accused DSP Dalbir Singh has been taken into custody. DSP Dalbir Singh is currently posted in PAP.
DSP Balbir Singh stated that an investigation into the case is underway, and strict legal action will be taken after the inquiry.
