Congress leader Mohan Joshi asserted on Wednesday that the inauguration of Pune Airport’s new terminal building is facing delays due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unavailability. Joshi emphasized the need for the building to be operationalized promptly for the convenience of flyers. He stated that, according to their information, the building has been ready for two to three months, but the inauguration hasn’t taken place due to PM Modi’s busy schedule during the recent Assembly polls. Joshi warned of an agitation if the new terminal isn’t operational by January 1. The construction, with an estimated cost of Rs 475 crore, began in 2017 and was initially set for completion by September 2022, but it has experienced delays with the deadline pushed back twice.
