A protest was staged in front of the residence of Finance Minister, Brham Shankar Jimpa, as notifications regarding unmet demands were not issued. Today, at Lal Jhanda Pedu Chowki in Hoshiarpur, under the supervision of Union Punjab SITU State President Parmjeet Singh Neelon and General Secretary Devi Das Miyan, a meeting was held in the tehsil complex of Hoshiarpur, attended by representatives and watchmen from across Punjab.
Parmjeet Singh Neelon, the State President, and Devi Das Miyan, the General Secretary, mentioned that four months ago, a consensus on five demands related to the watchmen was reached under the leadership of Finance Minister Brham Sankar Jimpah. The demands included doubling the salary of watchmen, providing two-grade increments, issuing batons, allotting land for housing, and implementing the Atta-Daal scheme to make identity cards for watchmen. The file for issuing notifications related to these demands was sent to the Treasury Department.
However, to date, there has been no response or notifications issued. Despite repeated meetings, the notifications have not been released. Today, in protest, a solid barricade was set up in front of the residence of Finance Minister Brham Shankar Jimpa. This barricade will persist until the notifications regarding the unmet demands are released.
