Images of four bodies being inhumanely transported to a crematorium in a single ambulance in Gandhinagar have gone viral, highlighting the serious condition Gujarat is in with regard to the rising number of Covid-19 cases. In major cities of the state, cemeteries have to be maintained 24 hours a day for the funeral of patients who diedue to Covid-19. This was the situation in front of the Sector-30 cemetery in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. Shocking scenes were seen in the state capital as many bodies were being transported for burial in the same ambulance. Health Minister Nitin Patel has denied that there were piles of corpses of patients who died due to Covid-19 in cemeteries. Images of the bodies of four Covid-19 patients being shifted for burial at the Sector-30 crematorium in Gandhinagar have gone viral on social media. People have expressed their anger. The bodies were shifted to the CNG gas-based crematorium in Sector-30, Gandhinagar, for burial. The four bodies were moved in an ambulance number GJ18G8045.Gandhinagar Mayor Rita Patel admitted to the media that this was the first time this had happened. “We have sought clarification from those responsible.” The first citizen of the city admitted that even from cities like Mansa, Kalol, bodies were being brought here, but said there were less deaths due to Covid-19 in the city. There has been speculation that the death toll due to Covid-19 was being manipulated by the administration.
