The number of coronavirus cases in India increased by 10,158 in a single day, the most in almost eight months, according to figures from the Union Health Ministry. The figures released on Thursday indicated an increase in active cases to 44,998. On Wednesday, 7,830 coronavirus cases were reported in India.
The weekly positivity rate was 4.02 percent, compared to the daily positivity rate of 4.42 percent. Presently, 0.10 percent of all infections are active cases.
The website of the health ministry reports that the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.71%. 1.19 percent was the reported case casualty rate.
The total number of patients who have recovered from the illness now stands at 4,42,10,127. The country has received 220.66 billion doses of the Covid vaccine, according to the ministry’s website.
