The Haryana government plans to purchase 2,300 acres of land for the expansion of the Saha Growth Centre, said home and health minister Anil Vijon Sunday. Addressing science entrepreneurs from Ambala during the launch of Asima’s (Ambala Scientific Instrument Manufacturer Association) digital directory, Vij said that transportation for the science industry would improve with the construction of a new freight terminal on the Eastern dedicated freight corridor.
Citing the example of the US, he said, if we provide better infrastructure, it will benefit Ambala’s science industry. A domestic airport project has commenced in Ambala, and efforts are being made to start air services from here in four to five months. We have resolved electricity and water issues in Ambala. Tnn
Haryana’s home and health minister, Anil Vij, announced plans to purchase 2300 acres of land for the expansion of the Saha Growth Center in Ambala. The construction of a new freight terminal on the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor is underway to improve transportation for the science industry. Ambala’s science industry, known for producing microscopes and other equipment, has contributed significantly to the city’s development. Infrastructure improvements including road construction, the expansion of highways, and the initiation of a domestic airport project are aimed at further supporting the industry. Farmers of Bharatiya Kisan Union Shaheed Bhagat Singh (BKU SBS) protested outside Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel’s residence, loading 150 stray cattle onto their tractor-trolleys. They claim that the cattle destroy their crops and cause road accidents. The farmers demand a permanent solution from the BJP-JJP government. The district administration deployed heavy police force to maintain order. A similar protest occurred on February 14, 2023, with the same demands. BKU SBS president Amarjeet Singh Mohri criticizes the government for asking farmers to transport the cattle to gaushalas at their own cost.
