After the release of Congress’s manifesto, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, addressed a press conference at the BJP state media centre. He labelled Congress’s manifesto as a heap of lies, accusing Congress of misleading the public.

Shekhawat stated, “The Congress party ruled for 15 years, giving the opportunity of Chief Minister to the same person three times. However, apart from making the state a rape capital, auctioning farmers’ lands, and deceiving the youth in the name of leaked papers, they have done nothing. Congress had released a manifesto in 2018, which was merely 44 pages long, and not a single promise made in it has been fulfilled. Therefore, this time, they have come up with a manifesto that is twice the size, spanning 85 pages. In the preamble of the 2023 manifesto, Congress writes that we have fulfilled 96% of the promises made in the 2018 public manifesto. He said that the manifesto started with a lie.”

The Union Minister of Jal Shakti added, “Congress had made promises for farmers, and in the first point of that, they had said that they would waive the entire debt of farmers within 10 days, but this has not happened till today.

The lands of more than 20,000 farmers in the state have been auctioned, and hundreds of farmers, distressed by debt, have committed suicide. The promise to compensate farmers for crop damage was made, but no compensation has been given.
