In a significant development, the city witnessed a major police action against a renowned jeweler. According to reports, Saurav Khanna, also known as Jugnu, the proprietor of New Ganpati Jewellers, has been arrested by the police from Police Station No. 4. The jeweler is accused of assaulting and attacking a young man, leading to his arrest, while five others have been named in the case.
The incident revolves around an altercation between Saurav Khanna and a young man from Basti Bawa Khel over a financial transaction. Allegedly, the young man was assaulted and beaten by Saurav Khanna in connection with a money-related matter. Following a complaint filed by Amandeep Singh, the police initiated an investigation and subsequently arrested the jeweler. The complaint suggests that Saurav Khanna orchestrated an attack on the young man in exchange for a sum of Rs 8 lakh.
