Once again, the issue of the Lal Diary is emerging in Rajasthan’s politics. On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while in Jodhpur, launched an attack on the Congress regarding the Lal Diary. Following this, in Jaipur, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took aim at the BJP over the same Lal Diary. Prime Minister Modi, while mentioning the Lal Diary in a public meeting, said that action would be taken on the misdeeds.
Subsequently, during an event organized to release the vision document, the Chief Minister, while countering, said that the conspiracy of the Lal Diary had fizzled out. He also said that this conspiracy was hatched sitting in the BJP headquarters, where Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Gajendra Shekhawat, and Jafar Islam plotted to topple his government. Gehlot accused BJP leaders of disturbing his government for five years. he said that due to BJP’s antics, MLAs had to stay in hotels for 40 days.
CM Gehlot said, “These people are toppling duly elected governments. They have no moral right to stay in power. They have attempted to topple elected governments in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka. If governments are toppled in this manner, what will the meaning of elections be?”
He also said that the feud between PM Narendra Modi and former CM Vasundhara Raje is old. He mentioned an incident when Vasundhara Raje was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, and Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat saying, “At that time, Vasundhara Raje had organized a meeting in Sanchor with the purpose of providing water to the citizens, while Modi held a meeting in Gujarat, just one kilometre away. The feud between the two has been going on since then and is ruining Rajasthan. Modi was conducting a meeting one kilometre away on the Gujarat side, to send water, and the inauguration was happening here to take water. In this way, the dispute between the two had started earlier.”
CM Gehlot referred to PM Modi as a “marketing guru”, saying that he had defamed him in Gujarat. Discussing the tenure of Gujarat in-charge, Gehlot said, “Modi spread the news in Gujarat that Ashok Gehlot is not allowing water to come to Gujarat.”
Gehlot said, “It is the duty of the Center to strengthen the state, but what have they done? The Center reduced funds by 76,000 crores. We struggled for 5 years. I had Covid twice. I worked during Covid. I did not sit at home. Corona has ruined them as much as it has ruined us. People appreciate our schemes. The people of Rajasthan have love and trust in me and my party.”
The CM said, “We are not stopping BJP’s plans. E-RUPI was BJP’s plan, we are taking it forward. The Center tried to stop the work of building dams under E-RUPI by provoking Madhya Pradesh. We are advancing the scheme that started during Vasundhara Raje’s time.” The CM said that earlier, announcements were forgotten after the elections. He added, “When I became CM for the first time, I acted on the manifesto. I kept a copy of the manifesto in the cabinet. I told the Chief Secretary that this is our manifesto. Governance and decisions will be made according to the words written in it.” The Chief Minister, referring to paper leaks, said, “Modi is talking about paper leaks. In Rajasthan, provisions have been made for sentencing those who leak papers. PM Modi, who was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, does not care about how many paper leaks are happening there. It is his own state. Tell us in which state there have been no paper leaks.”
It should be noted that CM Gehlot released the vision document at the Commerce College ground. All ministers, chairpersons of boards and corporations were present at the program. During this time, CM Ashok Gehlot laid the foundation stone for projects worth 12,700 crores. It may be recalled that Gehlot had launched a statewide campaign for Mission 2030. The campaign started in Jaipur. After that, CM visited districts and held meetings, and conferences on the suggestions for Mission 2030.
