Protests have been going on ever since the BJP announced its list of candidates for the elections. In the first list, 7 MPs have been fielded on the election ground. Jalore-Sirohi MP from Sanchore Assembly constituency Devji Patel is also included in this list. However, people are not very happy with the party’s decision to field Devji Patel in Sanchore and are protesting against this. On Wednesday, when Devji Patel reached Sanchore after visiting Pathmeda Gaushala, people stopped his car and started demonstrating their anger by showing black flags. The driver, in order to escape the situation, tried to run over the people coming in front of the car, due to which the crowd was agitated. The crowd pelted stones at the MP’s car and broke the glass.
When asked about the incident, Devji Patel said, “I was afraid that someone might attack. The incident took place at 10 am between Pathmeda and Barsam village of Sanchore. I was returning to Sanchore this morning after doing cow worship in Pathmeda. A while after chasing us, a car overtook and parked in the middle of the intersection. There were a large number of people standing there. I turned the car aside and asked the reason, but fearing an attack, I closed the window of the car.
