In a recent incident in Kapurthala near DC Chowk, two individuals on a motorcycle snatched a woman’s purse and attempted to flee. However, their escape took a dramatic turn when their bike collided with a PRTC bus near the bus stand, resulting in injury to one of the snatchers.
The injured individual, identified as Prabhjot Singh, son of Jeet Singh from Mushkved, was admitted to the civil hospital. Initial reports suggested that he may have been shot, but conflicting information emerged. While Duty Doctor Siddharth Bindra confirmed a gunshot wound below the knee with a broken bone, the DSP mentioned that the injury occurred when the side stand of the bike pierced through the knee.
Law enforcement officials, including DSP Gurmeet Singh and City Police Station-2 SHO Kewal Singh, promptly responded to the scene. The injured suspect is believed to have been part of a group involved in the purse-snatching, and the police suspect the involvement of additional accomplices.
The injured youth is currently undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital, with Dr. Siddharth Bindra referring him to a government hospital in Amritsar due to the severity of the injury. Meanwhile, the second accomplice managed to evade capture and remains at large.
This incident highlights the risks involved in criminal activities and the efforts of law enforcement to apprehend those involved in such incidents.
