Deputy Commissioner Shyambir chaired a crucial meeting with officers and stakeholders in Ganderbal to assess preparations for the upcoming mega New Year Festival at Sonamarg.
CEO of Sonamarg Development Authority presented a comprehensive overview of the planned arrangements for the two-day festival starting on December 31. The event will feature winter sports and cultural activities, creating an engaging experience for attendees.
The DC inquired about various aspects, including venue identification and beautification, accommodation, water and power supply, cultural activities, health facilities, heating arrangements, transport, parking, and the operationalization of Z-Morh Tunnel. Stressing the need for collaborative efforts, he emphasized the importance of seamless facilities for the anticipated influx of tourists, both local and from afar.
Anticipating a substantial tourist turnout for the New Year celebration, the DC highlighted the necessity of coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the success of the festival.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CEO of SDA, Joint Director Tourism, Executive Engineers from various wings, representatives from the Hotelier Association Sonamarg, and various officers and officials from the District Administration, demonstrating a collective commitment to delivering a memorable and well-executed New Year Festival in Sonamarg.
