An Army ALH Dhruv Helicopter crashed in the Marwah area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Thursday morning. In this incident, a technician was killed and two pilots were injured. The crash occurred in the hilly terrain of the region, as per the sources.
Reports suggest that the pilot and co-pilot have been rescued and are receiving medical treatment for their injuries. Earlier, it was reported that there were three people onboard the helicopter. The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, and investigations are currently underway. More details will follow as the story develops.
According to the Indian Army, an Army Aviation ALH Dhruv helicopter made a precautionary landing on the banks of the Marua River in the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir at approximately 11:15 am during an operational mission. The pilots had reportedly alerted the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) of a technical fault before deciding to land as a precautionary measure.
However, due to the difficult terrain characterized by undulating ground, undergrowth, and an unprepared landing area, the helicopter reportedly made a hard landing. The Indian Army has confirmed that no casualties were reported, and all three officers on board, including the two pilots and a technician, were safely evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and more updates are expected to follow.
