Near the residence of former Member of Parliament Chaudhary Santokh Singh, three armed robbers on an Activa scooter looted thousands in cash along with six mobile phones from the owner and colleagues of a factory that manufactures attachments for the football ground in Bawa Khel.
The robbery took place on Sunday morning around 5 am. After committing the crime, the culprits managed to escape. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Naushad, from Shivnagar, accompanied all the victims to file a complaint at Division Number Two police station. The police have registered a case against the unidentified robbers and are scrutinizing CCTV footage to trace any leads.
According to sources, the factory involved in making bags for the football ground is situated in Bawa Khel. The factory owner revealed that his brother had arrived from Delhi on the morning train, and he was going to pick him up from the railway station along with his colleagues, including Sajre Alam, Mo. Tayab, Mo. Sufiyan, Raj, Tanveer Alam, and Sarfe.
