The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Chandigarh has ruled that Air India must compensate a Chandigarh resident, Ira Domun, with Rs 5,999 for a bag damaged during luggage transfer. The complainant alleged that her bag, valued at Rs 5,999, was broken during the transfer from Goa to Chandigarh. While the court acknowledged the damage, it dismissed the claim for Rs 9,000 on curio items inside the bag due to lack of evidence. The commission directed Air India to pay Rs 5,999, along with Rs 2,000 in compensation and Rs 2,000 as litigation costs
