Sunil Jakhar, State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, criticized the Aam Aadmi Party for failing to deliver on its promise of clean governance. He lamented the party’s failure in providing even the most basic safety of life, highlighting the collapse of law and order.
Addressing a gathering of party leaders and workers, Jakhar expressed concern over the dire situation in the state, stating, “The only ones seemingly safe today are gangsters in jails, planning crimes from within. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann seems solely fixated on publicity. He’s even disregarding the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana scheme of the Centre just to feature his photo on flour packages. While the poor may go hungry, the Chief Minister’s hunger for publicity remains insatiable.”
Jakhar emphasized that Amritsar traditionally belonged to the BJP and urged party members to work zealously to bring about the much-needed change in Punjab. “Though we may be fewer in numbers, the spirit, valor, and hard work are the hallmarks of Punjabis. Our contributions in guarding the borders, ensuring the nation’s food sufficiency, and immense sacrifices during the Independence movement cannot be overlooked. Let’s strive to bring about the change Punjab truly needs,” he added.
Prominent leaders such as Former State President Shwait Mallik, State General Secretary Rakesh Rathore, District President Harwinder Sidhu, and State OBC Cell President Bonny Ajnala were also present at the event.
