A Covid-19 survey conducted on 57.3 lakh people to check for symptoms of cough, cold and mild fever showed that a total of 13,516 people were symptomatic. The people who came in contact with the symptomatic people were also identified in the survey. Out of the 8,413 people who came in contact with them, 6,546 have been tested, and a total of 1,178 people were found to be infected with Covid-19, leading to a positive rate of 6.42%. A total of 8,968 teams were formed to conduct the survey in all 11 districts of Delhi. The decision to conduct this survey in Delhi was taken in a meeting of Home Minister Amit Shah with CM Arvind Kejriwal. The survey was conducted from 20 November to 24 November. It was conducted in Delhi’s 4,456 Containment Zones, densely populated residential areas, markets and areas Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said, “A total of 57 lakh people were surveyed, out of which 11,000 were found to be symptomatic. These people were tested, out of which, about 1,100-1,200 people have been found to be positive. Apart from the survey, the positivity rate in Delhi on November 7 was 15.26%. It has come down to 8.49%. There is a drop of more than 40%, so I am constantly saying that one does not have to look at a day or two. Instead, if we see week to week, there has been a drop in the positivity rate for the last three weeks.”
