In a devastating turn of events at a private school in Zirakpur, Shubham, a 14-year-old student, lost his life while engaged in a basketball game. The incident occurred when he accidentally fell, resulting in a broken neck. The local police have initiated action under section 174, based on statements provided by the child’s family.

According to school administrators, Shubham was playing basketball with his 12-year-old brother on the school premises when the unfortunate accident transpired. The incident occurred around 9 am on Tuesday, leaving the school community in shock.

Following the incident, the school promptly contacted Shubham’s father, Naveen Garg, a resident of AKS Colony, Zirakpur. Shubham was swiftly admitted to a private hospital, and later referred to GMCH-32. Unfortunately, he was declared brought dead upon arrival at the medical facility.

Recounting the events leading up to the tragedy, Naveen Garg stated that he had dropped off his two sons at school on Tuesday morning. While playing basketball, Shubham suddenly complained of a headache, clutching his head before falling backward. The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
Chamkaur Singh, the investigating officer, revealed that after conducting a postmortem and considering the statements provided by the deceased’s father, action under section 174 was initiated.

The body has been handed over to the grieving relatives, as the community mourns the untimely loss of the young student.
