Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday praised US President Donald Trump for ordering precision airstrikes on Iran’s three nuclear facilities. He described the move as a powerful and history-shaping decision.
“America Did What No Other Country Could”
In a video message, Netanyahu said, “Congratulations President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran‘s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history.” He emphasized that while Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion” had achieved remarkable results, the United States had gone even further. “America has been truly unsurpassed. It has done what no other country on Earth could do,” he added.
Denying Dangerous Weapons to a Dangerous Regime
Netanyahu praised Trump’s actions as a major step toward preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. He said, “History will record that the US President acted to deny the world’s most dangerous regime the world’s most dangerous weapons.”
He also stated that their leadership had shifted the course of history, creating a new path toward peace and prosperity in West Asia. Netanyahu reiterated their shared belief: “President Trump and I often say, peace through strength. First comes strength, then comes peace.”
“God Bless Our Alliance”
Netanyahu concluded by thanking Trump, saying, “Tonight, President Trump and the United States acted with a lot of strength.” He closed his statement with a prayer, “May God bless our unshakable alliance, our unbreakable faith.”
Background: US Joins Israel in Attacking Iran
Trump had earlier confirmed the airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—calling them “massive precision strikes.” He warned that if Iran does not pursue peace, it would face stronger retaliation.
Iran Reacts Strongly
Iran acknowledged that the facilities were hit and condemned the attacks as “brutal aggression—an act in violation of international laws.” Tehran criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its silence and demanded global condemnation of the strikes, especially under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Key Sites Hit
Among the targets, Fordow is known for being built deep underground, while Natanz is one of Iran’s main uranium enrichment centers. According to The New York Times, Natanz had already suffered damage from earlier Israeli strikes.
Ongoing Conflict Enters Ninth Day
The Israel-Iran conflict entered its ninth day on Saturday. It began on June 13 when Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, hitting Iranian military and nuclear sites.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched Operation True Promise 3, firing missiles and drones at Israeli fuel facilities and energy hubs.
