Air India Reroutes Flights After Iran Airspace Closes Amid Middle East Tensions

Air India has revised multiple flight paths after Iran closed its airspace amid rising regional tensions. The airline stated that certain flights are now taking “longer alternative routes” to prioritise the safety of both passengers and crew.

In a statement, the airline explained the decision:

“Due to the emerging situation in Iran and parts of the Middle East, the subsequent closure of airspace, and in view of the safety of our passengers, some of our flights are operating on alternative extended routes.”

Passenger safety remains ‘top priority’

The airline stressed that despite the disruptions, passenger well-being remains its highest concern.

“We are doing our best to minimise any inconvenience caused to our passengers due to this unforeseen airspace closure,” Air India said. “We would like to reiterate that at Air India, the safety of our customers and crew remains top priority.”

How to check flight status

Passengers are advised to stay updated about their flight schedules by visiting Air India’s official flight status page or calling the airline’s customer support at 011 69329333 or 011 69329999.

The airline continues to monitor the situation in the Middle East closely and said it will make further adjustments if necessary.
