In the original, Tom Hanks played the part of a kind, simple man in Robert Zemeckis’ 1994 movie, starring Kareena Kapoor in the remake, “Laal Singh Chaddha.” When asked about the calls for a boycott at a recent press conference, Aamir responded, “Please, don’t boycott my film.”

Reportedly, when asked if such campaigns against his films make him upset, Aamir said, “Yes, I feel sad.” Also, I feel sad that some of the people who are saying this believe that I am someone who doesn’t like India. They believe in their hearts, but it is not true.It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That’s not the case. Please don’t boycott my film. Please watch my film. “

It appears that some Twitter users searched through the archives and found Aamir’s contentious remark about “India’s growing intolerance” and shared it there. Online, some of Kareena’s contentious past remarks have also been making the rounds. The same hashtag was popular when the movie’s creators released the trailer in May.

Aamir Khan made the contentious statement in an interview in 2015 that, “Our country is very tolerant, but there are people who spread ill-wil.” His wife, Kiran Rao, also garnered media attention when she said that she had pondered fleeing the nation for the sake of their children’s safety.

Laal Singh Chaddha which is produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, also features Chaitanya Akkineni and Mona Singh.
