Woman’s Body Found in Sack, Dumped in Bengaluru Garbage Truck

In a horrific case in Bengaluru, the body of a woman estimated to be in her early 30s was discovered stuffed into a gunny bag and placed in a garbage truck in the city at dawn on Saturday. The identity of the victim is yet unknown.

CCTV cameras in the Channammanakere Achchukattu area captured a suspect in an auto-rickshaw dumping the sack into the garbage truck between 1 AM and 3 AM, said C Vamsi Krishna, Joint Commissioner of Police.

The hands and neck of the woman were tied and the body was put in a gunny bag. BBMP staff brought us information about the body. We have filed a case of murder and are probing the case,” Krishna said. The body has been taken for autopsy, and a case of murder has been registered at the Channammanakere Achchukattu Police Station. Police are analyzing CCTV recordings to find and arrest the individual.

Civic Workers Raise Alarm

The gruesome find was revealed when BBMP sanitation staff discovered the mysterious sack while offloading trash. Upon opening the sack, they discovered the bound body of a woman and promptly informed police.

Second Shocking Crime in Weeks

The incident comes on the heels of another chilling murder that left the city reeling. A couple of weeks ago, 33-year-old mother-of-two Harini R was stabbed to death in a hotel room. The accused, 25-year-old techie Yashas, who is said to have been having an affair with Harini, allegedly stabbed her to death after she tried to call off the relationship.

Police describe the attack as premeditated, with Yashas having allegedly made Harini agree to meet him for one last time before killing her.

Police in both cases are still conducting investigations and are encouraging the public to bring in any information that would help them identify the woman or the suspect.
