Strong Earthquake Tremors Shake Delhi-NCR, Epicentre in Haryana’s Jhajjar

Severe tremors were experienced in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday following an earthquake that occurred in Haryana’s Jhajjar district. The earthquake was estimated to have been 4.1 on the Richter scale, which is moderate in magnitude.

The tremors started suddenly, leaving residents in different regions of Delhi in a state of panic. Residents came out of their homes after observing ceiling fans, lights, and other items swaying. Residents in high-rise residential complexes took shelter in open spaces as a precaution.

Noida, Gurugram offices report disruption

The effects of the quake were also felt in offices in Noida and Gurugram. Employees experienced a sudden shake, with various people reporting jolts strong enough to move computer systems and office equipment. Some offices briefly evacuated floors to secure the safety of staff.

There were no reports of damage to property or casualties. The authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation, and experts have also established that the epicentre was in the Jhajjar district of Haryana, which is an area with known seismic activity.
