A Saudia Airlines flight from Jeddah caused a temporary panic at Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on Sunday morning when smoke was seen rising from the plane’s wheels after landing.
The flight in question was Flight SV 312, and it landed safely but raised eyebrows when the undercarriage began to emit smoke. The ground team immediately raised the alarm with the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit, which promptly and professionally responded to take stock of the situation and contain it.

Airport authorities safely evacuated the passengers and reported no injuries. “There was no interference with normal flight operations,” the spokesperson added.
In spite of the drama, authorities insisted that the episode remained in hand at all times. Airport officials treated Saturday’s occurrence as minor and precautionary and reminded the public not to be alarmed.
To identify the underlying cause, authorities have called for an investigation into the incident. Initial observations suggest that the smoke may have originated from an overheated braking system, but experts will confirm this after conducting a thorough technical analysis.
Saudia Airlines has not made an official announcement, but the airline has said it will fully cooperate with the investigation.
Although such incidents are infrequent, aviation industry experts pointed out that preparedness of emergency response measures was key to preventing possible danger. “This is a reminder of the need to have good-trained emergency staff at airports, particularly international ones,” commented an aviation analyst.
The passengers on the flight breathed easily over the smooth and professional handling by the crew and airport authorities.
The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport functioned without a hitch, and the authorities once again vowed their attention to safety and readiness for any kind of emergency.
