AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday nudged India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and gave a straight talk in a major meeting in Bahrain, where he called Pakistan “an aggressor and not the victim.”
Owaisi is a member of one of India’s seven multi-party parliamentary missions traveling abroad to present India’s stand on terrorism.
Owaisi Exposes Pakistan’s Role in Cross-Border Terrorism
In a stern statement exposing Pakistan’s purported double game on terror, Owaisi asserted that Islamabad has repeatedly nurtured cross-border militancy rather than fallen victim to it.
“Pakistan is an aggressor and not a victim. In today’s meeting, we presented India’s side. We told them that for many years, terrorists aided and trained by Pakistan have been carrying out terror attacks in India, and many people have lost their lives. We gave them all the data. Be it Mumbai blast, train blast, suicide attack in front of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Pulwama, Pathankot attack,” Owaisi said.
Terrorism Threatens South Asia, Not Just India says Owaisi
Talking after the delegation had a meeting with Bahraini authorities, Owaisi emphasized that destabilizing India in this manner by such acts of terrorism is not only a threat to one country, but a threat to the entire South Asian region.
“We told them (the Bahrain government) that the efforts being made to destabilise India are not right. Neither is it good for South Asia, nor the region. They also said that many people from different parts of India live here, so they all agreed that the people of India have made a huge contribution here. We also put forward our point,” he added.
Global Tour to Highlight Pakistan’s Terror Links
Seven Indian delegations, made up of political leaders from various parties, are traveling to major countries. This strategic diplomatic global tour aims to highlight Pakistan’s role in promoting terrorism. The delegations also seek to assert India’s position as a responsible, peace-loving democracy following Operation Sindoor.
Delegation Includes MPs, Diplomats, and Senior Leaders
Owaisi is a member of the delegation headed by Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MP Baijayant Jay Panda. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP Phangnon Konyak, BJP MP Rekha Sharma, BJP MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and former Indian diplomat Harsh Shringla are some of the other members of the delegation.
