Vice Admiral A N Pramod stated on Sunday that the Indian Navy was in full readiness to strike strategic targets, including Karachi, as part of Operation Sindoor. Speaking at a press conference alongside Army and Air Force officials, he said India’s naval forces were forward deployed in the northern Arabian Sea and positioned in a decisive and deterrent posture.

Contributed to Pakistan’s Ceasefire Request

According to Vice Admiral Pramod, the Navy’s dominance at sea, combined with actions by the Army and Air Force, pressured Pakistan into urgently requesting a ceasefire. “Our posture at sea was overwhelming. It compelled Pakistan’s air and naval forces to go on the defensive,” he added.

Swift Response Post-Pahalgam Attack

After the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Navy deployed major combat assets within 96 hours. This swift move showed India’s readiness to respond to any threats. “The Indian Navy remains deployed at sea in a credible deterrent posture,” the Vice Admiral said.

Operation Sindoor Not Called Off

According to defence sources, Operation Sindoor is still active, and India has informed the global community that it will continue to respond to any provocation from Pakistan. “If Pakistan fires, we fire — this is the new normal,” the sources said.
