Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a tragic road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district which claimed 13 lives and left 17 injured.
The Prime Minister’s Office posted on X, “The road accident that occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna is heartbreaking. My condolences to those who lost their lives in the accident.”

“Along with this, I wish for speedy recovery of all the people injured in this accident. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in providing every possible help to the victims,” PM Modi said.

A passenger bus collided with a dumper truck and caught fire on Guna-Aron Road in Guna district on Wednesday night, killing at least 13 and injuring 17 others, according to the police. The injured are undergoing treatment in the Guna district hospital.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday visited the Guna district hospital and met with people injured in the accident and were undergoing treatment there.

After meeting the victims of the accident, CM Yadav said, “The incident occurred around 8:30 pm last night. 13 people have died in the accident. I am trying to get every possible detail of the accident and strict action will be taken against the responsible people in it.”

“After analysing the preliminary investigation, I have decided that the RTO will be suspended immediately for not conducting a checking on vehicles and the CMO (Chief Municipal officer) will also be suspended for the delay in reaching of fire brigade. Strict actions will also be taken on the high-level officials responsible for the incident,” he added.
