In a tragic incident, a 29-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his live-in partner by striking her with a pressure cooker at their rented residence in Bengaluru. The distressing event occurred on Saturday around 5 pm when an altercation erupted between the two, stemming from the man’s suspicions of his partner’s infidelity.
The victim, identified as Deva (24), was living with the accused, Vaishnav, both hailing from Kerala. The couple had shared a living space in Bengaluru for approximately two years. Their acquaintance dated back to college, and they both were employed at a sales and marketing firm located in the city’s Koramangala area.
During the confrontation, Vaishnav reportedly used a pressure cooker to inflict fatal injuries upon Deva. The tragic incident came to light after Deva’s sister was unable to contact her and reached out to a neighbour for assistance. The concerned neighbour promptly informed the police about the situation.Police investigations subsequently led to Vaishnav’s arrest, who had initially fled the scene after the crime. It was revealed that the couple’s parents were aware of their cohabitation and the recurring conflicts arising from Vaishnav’s suspicions. Attempts to mediate and resolve their issues had been made by their families, as per sources. Neighbours also confirmed that the couple frequently engaged in quarrels. Deputy Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru South-East division, CK Baba, stated, “I spoke with the woman’s parents when I visited the scene.
