Four individuals were arrested in connection with a road rage incident on the Mehruali-Gurugram road, as confirmed by Delhi Police on Saturday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Manoj from Haryana’s Rohtak, Kaviraj from Bhiwani (also in Haryana), Anil Kumar from Delhi’s Aya Nagar, and Prabhat Sharma from Chhatarpur.
The arrests were made based on a complaint filed by Sachin Lohiya and a video recording of the road rage incident. According to the police, the incident occurred on Friday when two groups engaged in an altercation after their cars collided.
Following the collision, a scuffle ensued between Lohiya and Vikrant, the driver of Prabhat Sharma. As the altercation escalated, Prabhat Sharma reportedly called four associates—Manoj, Anil, Kaviraj, and others—to the scene. The rival group allegedly brutally assaulted Lohiya, resulting in injuries to both Prabhat Sharma and Sachin Lohiya. Lohiya sustained severe injuries and was subsequently admitted to the AIIMS trauma center.
Witnesses at the scene reported that one of the accused was seen wearing a jacket similar to those worn by Delhi Police personnel. The police recovered the jacket from the accused, Manoj, who claimed to have purchased it from the Jharoda Kalan area.
A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the accused based on Lohiya’s complaint.
