The Air India Ahmedabad plane crash on June 12 has taken a grim turn, as new details have emerged. It has been revealed that flight AI 171 had been flown from Delhi to Ahmedabad just hours before its scheduled departure to London. Operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the aircraft had taken off from Ahmedabad at 1:38 PM and, within five minutes, had crashed in Meghani Nagar, a densely populated area.
A total of 232 passengers, including two infants, along with 12 crew members, were on board, bringing the total to 242 people. The flight was being commanded by Captain Sumit Sabharwal, with Clive Kunder serving as the co-pilot.
Passenger Flew Same Aircraft Earlier, Warned of “Unusual Things”
Just two hours before the Air India Ahmedabad plane crash, a passenger named Akash Vatsa (@akku92) shared a chilling tweet that has since gone viral, he said, “I was in the same damn flight 2 hours before it took off from AMD. It has now been revealed that Vatsa had been on board the same aircraft during its flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad, and his claims have since been placed at the center of the ongoing investigation into the cause of the Air India Ahmedabad plane crash. His video footage and observations are being treated as potentially vital evidence by aviation authorities.
Air India Ahmedabad plane crash hits doctors’ hostel
The tragedy intensified when reports surfaced that the aircraft struck a hostel housing resident student doctors.

Emergency teams were swiftly dispatched to the site to control the blaze and rescue the victims. A detailed inquiry has been initiated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which was already stationed in Ahmedabad for other duties.
Operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport have been suspended, and the timeline is now being reconstructed by aviation authorities using flight logs, crew reports, and passenger accounts such as Vatsa’s.
