Record 530 Million Devotees Participate in Mahakumbh: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that 53 crore devotees have already taken a holy dip at Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. This grand event is set to continue for the next nine days. CM Yogi emphasized the importance of Mahakumbh, calling it the largest spiritual and cultural gathering in the world.

He also highlighted the surge in visitors to Ayodhya, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for restoring faith in the country. Yogi pointed out that the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya increased from 2.35 lakh in 2017 to over 14-15 crore in 2024.

Enhanced Security Measures

Security at the Mahakumbh has been a priority due to the large crowds. The Prayagraj Railway Station saw heightened police presence to manage the situation effectively.

The Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), G.P. Singh, praised the coordination between Uttar Pradesh Police, CRPF, and other agencies. He acknowledged their efforts to ensure smooth operations during the event.

Special Trains for Devotees

To manage the massive rush of passengers, Northern Railway introduced four special trains. These trains will operate between New Delhi, Anand Vihar, and Prayagraj to accommodate the high number of visitors.

In response to the recent stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, which killed 18 people, the Central Railway also announced special trains for pilgrims traveling to Prayagraj. This move ensures the convenience of all attendees.
