Actor and producer Sharon Stone is in discussions to join the cast of HBO’s highly anticipated third season of Euphoria, according to sources cited by The Hollywood Reporter.

Stone, a veteran actress known for her roles in films like Basic Instinct, Total Recall, Sliver, and Casino (the latter directed by Martin Scorsese), will join the drama series, which stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, and Colman Domingo. Most recently, Stone appeared alongside Bob Odenkirk in Nobody 2.

Earlier this week, HBO confirmed that filming for season three has officially begun after nearly a three-year break. The Hollywood Reporter also reported the addition of several new cast members, including NFL star-turned-actor Marshawn Lynch (Love Hurts), Grammy-winning artist Rosalía, Kadeem Hardison (The Chi, A Different World), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, Suicide Squad), Toby Wallace (FX’s Pistol), Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hebert, Darrell Britt-Gibson, and Anna Van Patten. Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Wallace will be regular cast members, while the others will have notable guest roles, according to HBO.

Although Euphoria‘s second season received critical praise, the third season faced setbacks due to the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Notably, the upcoming season will be missing some familiar faces, including Angus Cloud, who passed away in July 2023, and Storm Reid, who recently announced her departure from the series.

Since its debut in 2019, Euphoria has become a cultural sensation, with Zendaya’s portrayal of Rue, a teenager battling addiction, garnering widespread acclaim. Season three will feature a time jump, advancing the characters beyond their high school years. While a premiere date has not been announced, the new season is expected to air in 2026, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
