Actress and singer Sabrina Bryan said she’s open to returning as Dorinda “Do” Thomas in The Cheetah Girls. The Disney Channel movie first aired in 2003 and became a cultural hit.

In a recent interview with People, Bryan said, “I would love to. I would love to get more of the Cheetah message out there because I’ve just seen what it’s done so far already.”

Cheetah Girls’ big success

The movie followed a fictional girl band made up of Bryan, Raven-Symoné, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, and Kiely Williams. The soundtrack was a hit and even made it onto Billboard’s music charts.

As a result, Disney turned the group into real recording artists. Then came two more movies—The Cheetah Girls 2 in 2006 and The Cheetah Girls: One World in 2008.

Dorinda’s story inspired many fans

Bryan explained how fans still talk to her about the impact of her character. “A lot of [fans] talk about the idea of their storyline being close to hers,” she said. “Not knowing where her mom is from, having to deal with feeling like they were left behind or not knowing who they are because they don’t know their ethnic background.”

She also shared how people found strength in Dorinda’s journey. “I’ve had a lot of people come up and just say, ‘How you were just so strong in the movies and that didn’t stop you,’ is something that really inspired them, and I’ve always loved that.”

Raven-Symoné supports a reunion too

Last year, co-star Raven-Symoné spoke about the lasting power of the Cheetah Girls. In February 2024, she said, “Another moment in culture that gave girl power, that gave fashion, that gave songs — [I’m] very blessed to be a part of that. And can’t wait to see what the future holds with that. It’s gonna be interesting to see what the future holds in regards to the Cheetah Girls.”

Spreading a message of unity

Symoné also shared that a reunion would inspire today’s young women. “If something happened where the Cheetah Girls came back together on screen,” she said, it would show a new generation how strong “girl community” can be.

She added, “I come from a generation [of] catty girls and things of that nature. And then my mom’s generation [was] the same way. I think now it’s starting to change a little bit. I think girls are more like, ‘I got you, girl,’ and to be able to mirror that back in such an iconic, cool, innovative way that screams Cheetah … I mean, I’d be a part of it.”
