The spin-off of the American legal drama Suits, titled Suits: LA, is set to premiere on February 23. According to Variety, characters from the original series will appear in the spin-off, including Gabriel Macht, who portrayed Harvey Specter.

Macht is confirmed for a three-episode appearance as Harvey Specter. As per Variety, he has yet to film his scenes. The actor shared that his decision to return was influenced by his fans.

“It was a ‘let me think about it.’ Let me see if it makes sense for where I’m at creatively. What other creative things are going on and what is the story? What are the stories that we’re telling? I did think about the fans, and that was ultimately the reason I turned around and said, ‘You know what? I think it’s maybe the right thing. I wanted to support the launch of this show,” said Gabriel Macht, as quoted by Variety.

Discussing his role in the series, Macht revealed, “I can tell you that there’s some flashbacks. There’s a relationship that Harvey and Ted had in the D.A.’s office. And I can tell you that they’re cut from the same [cloth], and they have a deep friendship. They look out for each other,” as quoted by Variety.

Following the success of Suits, which became a major streaming hit, NBC’s decision to greenlight Suits: LA highlights the ongoing interest in the franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Created by Aaron Korsh, who was also behind the original series, Suits: LA is set in Los Angeles and presents a new storyline distinct from its New York-based predecessor.

The spin-off stars Stephen Amell (Arrow, Heels) as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who moves to Los Angeles to take charge of a struggling law firm. The series will follow Ted’s journey as he faces professional challenges while navigating personal relationships within the legal world.

The ensemble cast includes Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, and Bryan Greenberg, with Victoria Mahoney directing the pilot episode, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Commenting on the expansion of the Suits universe, creator Aaron Korsh expressed his excitement about exploring new facets of the legal drama while maintaining the core elements that made the original show a success.
