A mass shooting broke out in Toronto’s Lawrence Heights area. As a result, one person died. Additionally, five others suffered gunshot wounds.
Police Confirm Injuries
Toronto Police quickly responded to the scene. They confirmed that five victims were taken to the hospital. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening.
Mayor Olivia Chow Expresses Concern
Soon after the news broke, Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow addressed the public. She said, “Disturbed by news of the shootings in the Lawrence Heights area this evening. My office is in contact with Toronto Police, who are on scene now and investigating, and the local councillor Deputy Mayor Mike Colle.”

Moreover, Chow thanked emergency personnel. She added, “I want to thank the first responders – Toronto Police, Fire and Paramedic services for your work on a very busy and challenging scene. Toronto Police are working to provide an update soon.”
