The Group of Seven (G7) member countries, gathering for a Canada-hosted summit, have agreed to six joint statements on various urgent global concerns. They have agreed on issues related to artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and managing wildfires.
Other statements are on quantum computing, migrant smuggling, and transnational repression, which reflect common concerns about new technologies and global security threats.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will issue a standalone chair’s statement further elaborating on the summit’s results. The joint declarations reflect the bloc’s willingness to combat worldwide issues through cooperation and innovation in both environmental and technological fronts.
